This was my very first wargame I bought back in 1978… SPI Edition in a special De Luxe version of SPI UK in FRENCH(!) and DUTCH (!) version and mounted maps… It was the start of 4 decades of wargaming 😀

Yes it’s an easy & low complexity game. I have 1976 Deluxe version and the rules are very accessible, maybe too simple. I hope w/ 4th edition & the variations it will have more meat on the bone. Glad you are doing a box opening of this old classic. I’d been very interested to see you do a playthrough for this. Many thank & great addition to channel.

Just to add another iron to the fire Rough but if you're building an interest in Napoleonics I can thoroughly recommend Walter Vejdovsky's "Last Eagles" series as well. The Quatre Bras game is just sublime. The components are beautiful and a very elegant system which (I think) captures the nuances of warfare from the period superbly. You can also link it with the Ligny game to make a "campaign" scenario. Well worth a look-see as I think you'd enjoy it.

Hexy is a nice guy. Interacts with me on his videos which is nice. What historical period would you say you like the most RSW? I tend to lean towards WW2 and the Age of Musketry but I am getting quite interested in the Medieval period especially the Hundred Years War.

Hi Nordic - Hexy is great! Favourite period? Well, I own more WW2 but I'm being pulled all over the place period wise (which is great!) and now Hexy gets me a Napoleonic game!! 😂

@@RoughSwordsmanWargamer I enjoy his channel as well as yours. WW2 is a great subject for miniatures or hex and counter games. Napoleonic era is a pit trap just waiting to suck you in!
