I don’t think voice chat is a move in the right direction, especially not during fog of war. Gives away too much and makes the games less suspenseful

From a making television perspective it's not ideal. VC tournament games with all grandmasters combine the highest skills in the game so from the perspective of being a challenging competition for me these are some of my favourites.

@@noeticjustice1535 it's good for the early game. Not to mention people lose track of where others are mid game sometimes. Didn't work well on MotD but worked well on Michel as the game changed a ton throughout.

Eh, it's not too bad to have a game like this for a change. I like the suspense of fog games but this is actually alright too, it's not a bad dynamic. Unlike fog with allies, which just completely nullifies it.

I love voice chat in Risk. It makes it feel closer to real life where you can make deals and play more mindgames. My biggest issue with Risk online is the lack of effective communication. I know some were saying vc with fog of war is a mistake, but I still think it works because it makes you pay closer attention to exactly what everyone is saying. All in all very fun!

@@TheKillPeteStrategy Have just made my 1. ranked game (only rounds with my kids before), and won against 3 masters and 1 beginner. I had the australien position... and stacked at asian border. I guess, without watching your vids, I would'nt have been so patient. So thx Pete. As I was the 'fish' in early and beginning mid game, I wasn't very confident. But eventually, the first suicided against another opponent, so I was able to snack both and than fight the other 2. Gratefully, it was a game with 2 min rounds... that helped in late game to clean the map 😅

I'll would much rather hear Pete's commentary on his strategy than hear everyone else giving away their positions in fog. It removes the suspense and honestly doesn't make a lot of sense for a tournament.

It's the highest form of the game in terms of skills. I would agree that it is not as interesting as a spectator sport if you don't fully understand what you're watching. I try to have a mix of content for this reason.

Honestly you’d be fine with just getting a 2070 super gpu. That will handle everything you do just perfectly. For just $500 or less it’ll fix all your camera problems, etc. That’s what I used to stream Warzone at max graphics and a camera and green screen.90-120fps

When you are streaming, obs I assume, do you disable the stream preview in obs(the main area showing you and your screen, what’s being recorded)? Disable it when you can! You’ll get much better frame rate and your camera will not lag as much

If you're planning on getting a new PC, build one. It will be much more cost effective and it's actually very simple. You can focus on the parts that you need for streaming - you could opt for a lower tier gpu since risk isn't graphic intensive, and most of the power would be needed for streaming, as opposed to streaming and playing something like COD. (I think a 4GB GPU would be fine, if not a bit overkill).

Hey Pete not sure what influence you and the other Grandmasters have but…if you could it would be interesting to see varying levels of “zombie” difficulty which could influence how they inspect information on the map such as hitting like normal in dumb current mode. More wild as if it is a smarter kind of zombie and the lastly one that can abandon territories to gain troop advantages and as they leave those territories it can cause a hazard to be left behind making in not traversible for 3 turns.

The ability to manipulate your opponents is skillful. This is a piece of these tournaments people often miss. I can understand how it doesn't make as interesting television if you don't understand what's going on compared to the player narrating his thoughts.

Different tournament rules. The gm tournament allows streaming in fog because we trust eachother not to stream snipe.
