Apparently you don't need to ground the ball to score a try

Not if there is a lack of conclusive disproof of grounding and the onfield decision was try.

@fAkAKiNa39 That's not the rule. The rule is if the onfield referee awards a try then the video must show *conclusive disproof* of the ball being grounded in order to overturn the original decision. The replay was inconclusive either way, so the onfield decision stands. The same rule applies in cricket with LBW decisions. If the umpire says it's out and the batsman challenges, then the hawkeye shows that it's pretty much 50/50 hitting or missing the stumps, the original decision stands.

Goes to show the difference a world class #10 makes. Its been a few decades since we didn't have one of those in Canterbury, and its making for a tough old season. We were lucky with an on field try decision that clearly wasn't grounded so the score line was flattering. Well done to the Reds, deserved the win. Tough pill to swallow for our boys. Think its time to look forward to next season as this one is all but over for us. Penney, you've got some work to do and not just with the playing squad but clearly the coaching and leadership set up isn't firing like it use to. Some self-refection in the off season warranted.

Thanks, these are great highlights. I thought the saders were back in form, so it was a shame to see them lose again, but as an Aussie very relieved to see the reds win after last week

Oh don't go too hard on them. They are not having a champagne season. like the weather teams go through their droughts. This years is theirs. They have a fantastic record of success. Presently incomparable over the life of the Super Rugby Competition. The crowd at Christchurch was very supportive certainly from what it looked like in numbers. Can I say I was very very happy the Reds won at that venue and against that team. Yes I was. 1999 was quite some time ago.

Disappointing season so far and I don't think it's going to get any better anytime soon. Don't think this coaching team is is the right fit for a franchise such as the crusaders .. to many inconsistencies injuries hasn't helped either selections in some crucial areas is questionable to say the least . For one mitch drummond is slower than a snail David haviili just isn't up to it let alone doesn't have that match sharpness .. its time to let the kids play and start a new era , rather build and lose with the kids than stick to those guys who's past their sell by .
