I'm on my 4th bag in one week. My first 3 were made on smaller round purse handles with 40 beginning stitches, i did have to repeat the pattern one extra time. The one I'm working on now is on the correct size handle with 50 stitches. This is a great pattern. I love the way you start it on the handle as opposed to attaching afterwards. Its quick and easy and Beautiful. Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial!

I started making this bag, but with jute twine, and 7mm hook, when doing the 6th row (HDC and ch1 then miss a stitch) my bag seems really tight and goes a funny shape. Any suggestions on how to stop this happening?

I don't mean to be picky but I am still learning, isn't the stitch onto the hoop a "slip" stitch since you yarn over and pull through 2? Or am I doing it wrong? Thank you!

It’s a single crochet as you pull up a loop and draw through two loops. My slip stitch is pulled through one loop - the original loop on the hook. I hope this makes sense. Great question!

I'm doing just that. I couldn't get the size handles in the time I needed this purse done. The inside diameter of my handles is 3.25. I started with 40 beginning chains. Once I'm done, I'll decide if it's fine smaller or I may add some extra rows to the sides before assembling... I'll update later this week on how I finished.
