Its good to not keep many duplicates.. Especially if it is plants that are easy to get (even though they can be useful for experiments) I keep a few duplicates, but only of my very seldom available living room display cabinet plants.. all the more common propagations will go to other people If you ever feel like you want less plants.. and don’t know where to start… It can help to empty the room… and put them back one by one, starting with the ones that you love most.. until the room is “cozy enough”.. whatever remains outside of the room is not necessary 😉

I like that concept. It's actually a good idea. When we redesign, we do tend to choose to decorate first with the plants that we really love and then try to find spaces for the ones that we may not love that much.

I taken one plant at a time to Church with a sign saying “Free Free Free” and place it on the table in the dining hall. It was fun and smiles as the ladies watch me leave a gorgeous plant. One person got upset and told The Pastor. We spoke about it. I told The Pastor, the note said “Free Free Free”. He said “Women love plants.” My quote “ New friendship renewed.” I downsized to 30 Plants that I want and grow successfully while keeping it a hobby 🌱🙏🏾 Go grow in Peace ✌🏾 🪴Happy Planting🌿

I've been consolidating duplicates into one pot to "reduce" the number of plants / make plants fuller.... But then I have empty pots that I feel like I should fill .... So then I get easy care plants to fill the pots so now I have easy care duplicate plants.... And the cycle continues

You're a better woman than me, Pam - you can THINK about getting rid of them! 😂 I have to trash plants in the exact moment I decide I don't want them. Boom - in the trash and seal the bag and outside into the can! If I give it one second of consideration, I'll talk myself into saving it, trying again giving it more attention, propagating it, etc. And then I'm back to where I started. So, I'm a "rip off the bandaid" kind of gal. And I can honestly tell you, for all the angst in each decision, I haven't missed one for a moment once it's gone. Good luck! 👏🏽👏🏽💚🪴💚🥰

Philodendrons just get so big that sooner or later they have to go. I put myself on a philo ban, and don't buy many other plants lately either, as I am out of space and don't really like the look of many tiny plants. I have also gotten rid of plants that didn't do it for me anymore, nothing wrong with it.

There are a lot of fb marketplace plant sellers in my area. You should try the public meet up and just pick a public place with a lot of foot traffic. I got rid of most of my duplicates last year and everything that just didn't bring me joy anymore and it felt good.

Pam I know this wasn't easy. I promise since summer, No more stressing . NO. I have a mexicanum and my painted lady since 2023 they are still under 7 inches tall. They won't grow . I keep staring at them and the garbage can. I've done substrate changing. Place them under grow lights I'm sick of looking at these midgets. I won't miss them 😂😂😂😂
