One of the dirtiest sanctioned fights I've ever seen. He knew exactly what he was doing, and what the ref & Shields was saying. To act innocent after pulling some of the shadiest shit you can do is unbearable. By the time the ref did anything about the eyes the damage was done. The thought of losing his eye was already in Shields head, and it would have been mine too. He couldn't see and started giving up position until clear headed Palhares sunk the kimura. The fact that he knowingly cranked it *WAY* longer than he had to is the final straw. He's been doing this crap for years, in every major match or fight he's ever had. The guy should never be able to get a fight with a legitimate promotion again...

@@StonerInMN Yes Palhares is not really smart, no offense to him. First this is MMA, not me sparring with a friend where we don't crank submissions and look for the tap. Those guys are full of adrenaline with a crowd screaming, so it's entirety possible to not feel someone touching you under those circumstances. And if I were Shields, I would still blame Mazzagati for being on the wrong side. Palhares is to blame for some submissions but this one against Shields is not one of them.

@@StonerInMN I've done Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitively for 10 years, and I'm telling you from what I can see his ignoring of the tap and the referee's attempts to stop the submission damage is both obvious and egregious from my perspective. If he did that at a tournament I guarantee you the teammates of Shields would have rushed the mat and a beatdown would have ensued, which you can actually see almost occured after this fight.

@@JCampos5051 Mais o histórico de Vezes que o Touquinho fez isso demonstra que não é o normal acontecer esse tipo de coisa. Se você for notar as Finalizações de lutadores como Charles do Bronx, Davi Ramos, Amanda Nunes, que são faixa pretas de alto nível assim como Touquinho eles sempre soltavam na hora que o juiz parava, não é atoa que o touquinho foi o primeiro a ser banido do UFC por conta desse problema.

He was Banned because he would end the careers of many fighters! You can't have a league with NO fighters! He is better suited for wrestling with "MUZZLED" TIGERS, BEARS and LIONS. He mastered his part of the UFC....too well. You can't have the "main EVENT" being 15 seconds long...people will NOT pay "HIGH" ticket prices except if he is Fighting a BEAR or LION!
