Pierre! Merci. This was truly a delight for a Sunday afternoon from my home in Greece. I want to visit this charming part of France. You mention that the Greeks were thought to introduce the vine and olive to Luberon. If, in your travels, you know of an ancient olive tree - I would invite you to have its DNA tested. Many of the most ancient trees tested are from a similar variety which the Greeks transplanted and which is known to produce olives with high phenolic content. Hippocrates called this oil - from early harvest, unripe olives - medicinal. I will guide you to find out more if you are interested. The one on our island of Aegina is 2700 years old and still produces fruit!

Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled that you enjoyed our virtual tour of Roussillon from your home in Greece. It's wonderful to hear about your interest in ancient olive trees and their history. The idea of DNA testing to trace their origins is indeed fascinating.
