When I went to the palace at Versailles, they said dauphin meant child king. And I went here literally today and saw some of these places. I think the central fountain with the Lions is way better than the dauphin fountain. And this day, October 13, the streets are pretty crowded, not like what you see here. On this Monday, the museums with the Picassos and the Cezanne’s are closed. But-at the Caumont Centre d’ Arts there is a 1/2 hour movie about Cezzane that was really very informative. Made me feel like I did not miss the other. The price of 6.5 euros to tour there was well worth it and takes an hour, if you follow the walking tour info they give you.

25:42 "resonated" with me the most. 😊 I can probably easily spend an hour there just exploring. It was a "wow moment" for me to see the place where Cezzane lived. I find his work in still life very inspiring. I also admire the architecture and details that are well-kept and remains very functional to this day. (Wish we could have done the same for some districts in Manila...) Awessome vid. Thanks for taking us along, Sir J.✨️🫰🏻🫶🏻

I was shocked that the speaker did not acknowledge the role of the courage and bravery of the American Third Infantry in liberating Aix from the scourge of the Nazis. An American flag is posted on that plaque for a reason, but the guide completely ignored this fact. I lived in Aix for a year as a student and was also shocked that he did not choose to show that Aix is a university town, preferring to focus on the Apple Store and similar drek that can be found everywhere.
@januslog2 ай бұрын
I’m not sure which speaker you are regarding to. If it’s me in this video you may have confused with a different video? I do mention the WW2 liberation and did not visit any Apple Store.

For the medieval feel you may want to visit some of the smaller mountain villages. While there are plenty of beautiful old houses in Aix, it feels more like a renaissance town to me
@heliedecastanet18824 ай бұрын
Aix is not a medieval town. It is mostly XVII° and XVIII° century (classical French architecture), except from the old churches and cathedral. Compared with Aix, Avignon is more a medieval town (if ever you come and visit the region).
