Love Madison. I performed annually for every 4th of July weekend during the Regatta Power Boat race for a decade next door to the Key West Shrimp House. How did you miss it? The view of the bridge in the evening all lit up alongside the live music out on the large patio every weekend was truly special.

Enjoyed watching this, I have visited Madison a few times in the past with my family, & came back as an adult to visit. We always stayed at Clifty Falls State Park. I remember the original lodge, that had a nice back porch, with a great view of the Ohio River. It was a very charming place, but was destroyed by a tornado, on April 3, 1974. The lodge was rebuilt after that, and years later, in the early 2000’s, got a major upgrade to the lodge, & adjoining restaurant. It’s a nice place for a getaway trip for a few days. If you stay there, get a river view room, it’s so relaxing to look out at the river. Only drawback, is the view of the coal plant that is just across from the park. Madison is a beautiful town, fun to stroll around, & relax, & look at the shops. I remember an old-fashioned soda fountain in the downtown, that served delicious hand-made malts, & shakes. I can’t recall the name, they might not be there anymore. Lots of beautiful old buildings in the town, that have been well-preserved.

Unfortunately I didn’t pay attention to when this video came out. Most of the restraunts mentioned are no longer open. Aug 2024

I’m amazed they don’t wear life jackets.

Fought one of my best friends in that caboose. What a great childhood. God, I miss that town. May move back some day.
