As a kid very little kid I was driving our semi trucks and backing them out of the garage and warming them up for my dad before we would make a load so I could not wait to drive our wanderlodges on the actual highway so soon as I got my permit at 14 daddy let me drive 100 or so miles while mom was taking a nap. That was the coolest thing to me and very special that daddy believed in me enough to trust me with his pride and joy that he worked so hard for. That was my first time and been driving them every since. Y’all be safe.

We would always stay at Black Bart's RV Park and Dinner Theater for at least 2 or 3 days and ride our Harley Davidson FatBoy to Sedona, Jerome. Prescott and back via Oak Creek Canyon!

@forrestallen91552 жыл бұрын
I just wanted to pass along a quick tip on driving a bigger RV. When driving down the road, in your lane you will see where the road is worn down more(lighter) from other truck tires and it is darker in the middle of those tracks. Just align yourself and the steering wheel to be on the left side of the dark portion of the road and it will help you stay in your lane especially at night. I hope this helps Trish out and she can be more relaxed and enjoy the journey!!!!

“Come on Gary, get your head glued on straight, Trish is nervous driving, Charlie got the poop scared out of him, Marc can’t keep track of the car and Caleb, well he’s being Caleb, somebody’s gotta keep this show on the road” 🤣🤣🤣 I’m willing to bet the car “rolling” backwards was Calebs idea 🧐 Love the flashbacks, crazy how fast kids grow up !!! Awesome as always 😍😍😍😍😍

Oh my gosh, the title alone is hysterical..lol! Trish, you are a sister when it comes to driving an RV. I can only do as much as 7 miles..lol . Funny thing, I don't have an RV yet but I'm watching RV you tubes non stop. I tested drive a class A motorhome with V8 engine and it runs smooth like butter. I can't wait to buy it and drive 7 miles of it. My husband is already nervous and having severe anxiety.

This turned out to be a really funny video guys. The car leaving on it's own was hysterical. Then Gary loosing his head. I nearly lost it when Trish was doing CPR on a headless Gary. It was beautiful watching the sunset as you headed ever west into the night. It got kind of silly as the evening wore on but I've learned that's what happens after a long day of driving. This was a super great video guys. Sorry it didn't go well for Trish driving. A loose steering wheel can be a bummer. Looking forward to Gary getting his head back. haha

Oh Trish. Thank you for allowing your experience to be shown. It made you more REAL. I have sold my sticks & bricks and will depart with a 32 ft. fiver, solo, later this year, (haven't pulled it yet). My previous experience was with a 16 ft. TT in 1979 when I headed out full time. So, I whole heartedly relate to your recent experience as I attempt to reassure myself that it will be OK. PS. I stayed in a KOA, in Selma NC, 1979 with full hookups for $7.35 per night !

Well we didn't fair so well with the Graffiti bridge on 17th Ave in Pensacola, FL! Lost the A/C unit on our Class A rental, and ended up in Milton for 6 weeks waiting to get it repaired. Bridge is infamous in the area for some such accidents. There was no sign giving the height, and the sign "Low Bridge" was covered with graffiti. We met many RVers as they came and went from the campground. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. And before the pandemic! Such is life! It made for interesting and entertaining fodder for my husband's travel blog for the folks back home and around the world. ;) HA! And I just remembered we got 26" of snow within hours of returning it when we got home!! Like Tricia, we were so glad to get home!

Poor Gary! No shame in needing to get used to a loose steering wheel, it’s upright and big and loose. I took our rig out on our small country roads to learn its feel. Plus our Expedition can really book it, I have to watch it’s speed. One day we will do Rt. 66. Currently parked at our daughters’ house until I graduate with a Masters in Nursing. Kudos to Tricia for trying and being a responsible driver. It is super stressful to drive under the blanket of fear - no bueno. The first I would have to have would be a booster seat (I am down to 5'). It is a climb into our Ford 250 (Trailer pkg.), but once in the seat, I can adjust the pedals, seat, steering wheel, mirrors & radio to drive safely and happily. We just returned from a four and a half trip, covering much of the same route, and I have to say this episode epitomizes "a day in the life" of an RVer. The highs, (finding what you have looked forward to - Winslow) the lows, (what you wanted to see is closed or the wait is long) the unknown, (I think our height is good????) meeting great people, (we sold our home and will find out what comes next) pushing too long and being too tired when you have to, and THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME! Gary's CPR was the funniest thing you have ever done!!!

All that play in the steering wheel. 😨 My first car, a ‘73 VW Kharmin Ghia, had loose steering like that; I had to turn the wheel a third of its revolution to make the tiniest adjustment, then another third of the way back around to “catch” the steering momentum. That’s a scary feeling. Trish I relate to your apprehension. Your videos are always great fun, & I appreciate what you do. I give major kudos for your patience in this vintage rig. Honestly I would’ve tapped out by now. I know Marc loves the Bird, but it needs major upgrades, refurbs & modifications to be interstate worthy & travel comfy. Best of luck to y’all.
