Route 66 El Rancho Hotel in our classic 1954 Plymouth Belvedere

My drive to bring home our old '54 Plymouth Belvedere from Michigan to California via Route 66 and National Old Trails Highway brought me to a ton of interesting, quirky, and historic places. Here is one of the most memorable stops along the way. It' the hotel where so many of the old Western and Film Noir stars lodged when filming in the stark and dusty American West. The place has been preserved amazingly well. It even has a working, hand-operated elevator that makes you understand why we used to have elevator operators in our lives.
