6 yrs ago, I took a cross country trip from central California to North Carolina on my BMW motorcycle. One of my fuel stops was in Shamrock. I had no idea that the Tower Building was there. Lo and behold, I saw it, stopped there for pictures. That was a great experience and now, memories. 🙋‍♂️🏍💨

The best part of your comment for me is I literally read it not 5 seconds before he said it. Lol. I had to do a double take.

I finally had a chance to pick up my signed copy of Tales From Randomland from my parents house, where I shipped it, since I was in the middle of moving. It's the first book I've read front to back in years (finished it in 3 sittings). You and Tyler did a great job! I hope it's Vol 1. of many more to come!

We’ve stayed at the Western Motel across the street from the vintage station in Shamrock and it was actually rather nice. The current owners were doing a good job of keeping things clean. Plus we got to see the neon. Your video, which we always appreciate, made me look back through my photos so I could find the old Slug Bug Ranch. Sure enough - I had some photos!

Speaking of Phillips 66, if you ever get the chance I highly recommend a visit to Woolaroc, Frank Phillips' original ranch near Bartlesville, OK, which is now a wildlife refuge and world-class museum.

Back in 2016, though it might not have been the best financial decision, I took the opportunity to set out from Nashville with my feline copilot (RIP 2021 Honey 😥) up to Chicago, then out to do the length of the Mother Road. Shamrock was one of my favorite places (one where I've considered making my home) and the Wester Motel was awesome, and quite pet-friendly. There is/was a really good steak house maybe 50 yards east of the Western, also well worth a visit. One of these days, I hope to take the journey again, perhaps with my new "flight engineer" monitoring the instruments.... 😜
