Simon this has been a fantastic blog series. Looking forward to Vegas. Sometimes you seem worried that you might be boring us with different bits (showing food or scenery) - we are happy to see all of that stuff. Your style is great as well - a lot of bloggers just seem to film themselves and with you we get to see and experience things as you do! Very glad to see you experience all that Route 66 has to offer (even terrible LA traffic). Seemed like the trip of a lifetime. Safe travels and fingers crossed for some handpays in Vegas!

Really enjoyed these Simon, me and Deb have been watching together on tv. Something we will never do (I struggle enough driving in this country!!!) but really interesting to see your journey and the weird and wonderful places you stopped and stayed in. I get it about driving in LA. The bigger the population, the more cars on the road (including those unfamiliar since there are a lot of visitors) and so more chances to run into craziness. Glad you got out relatively unscathed. Now you’re all rested up for Sin City!

I’ve done the drive from LA to Vegas several times and it’s definitely far too stressful driving in LA. The California Inn was certainly a surprise 👍

I live in SoCal and I say the same thing about traffic 🤣🤣. We avoid LA like the plague 🤣💀. Popeyes is known for their biscuits …. Get them next time 🤘🤘. Get some rest and let’s Vegas!!!

That is the American driving style for sure. Even driving in Florida was like that, it amazed me there wasn't more accidents. But as the week went on I got more chilled about it and in the end just chose a lane and ignored everyone. Looking forward to you getting to Vegas.

We stopped at Starbucks at Barstow this morning - in Vegas now ( Sunday night at Durango) got upgraded to a suite ( absolutely beautiful ) we sat and watched you on one of the 70inch screens they have before we went to lose our shirts in the casino downstairs. - all a bit bizarre considering your just down the road from 😂

L.A. freeways are crazy for sure. Thank God I live further south! Glad you made it to Barstow safely. I haven't had Popeye's in years. Their chicken tenders and bisquits are great from what I remember. I've stopped at that "train" McDonald's before on the way to or back from Vegas. They have a cute gift shop in there. Nice motel for a recharge before Vegas!!! I wonder what you're doing in Vegas as I'm writing this 🤔? Hopefully winning a "f'en handpay!" 😂👏👏🙏😉

Good idea to break up the drive and have a chill day - and as you say, avoid crazy Saturday night Vegas prices! What an adventure you’ve had - and what a t-shirt buying spree! They’re going to be a great way to relive the whole thing when you get back home though. I wore a Grand Canyon one today and it was a nice reminder on a humdrum Sunday that I’ve had some good adventures - and you’ve got tons to choose from 😂. Looking forward to seeing your Vegas escapades!

When I drive to Vegas sometimes I stop at that "Barstow Station" complex with the Subway, Popeye's, McDonald's because its right next to Interstate 15 and its roughly halfway to Vegas for me.

I was more interested in vegas but route 66 have got me hooked and am tempted to try this in the future. LA traffic is awful, we left there on Sunday to drive to Santa Barbara, as soon as you get away you really notice the difference, great price for petrol considering how many miles you have done. Will look forward to your Vegas vlogs, we arrive there on Friday 😊

I really wasn't expecting a vlog today, as I thought the route 66 series finished yesterday. I'm so sorry that the only food you had to choose from was from fast food chains. Even though I've never tried Popeye's, I didn't think it would be very good. It's much nicer watching you at independent restaurants. I'm sure you've had much better food at indies.
