Wow, absolutely wow, just so stunning! The mountains, lakes, deserts although quite similar to their US counterparts, they have an awesome appeal of their own. Thanks Alice, another great episode!

Grear video! It reminded me of my Patagonia trip where I was lucky to "hike" with a Huemul deer on my last leg on the W-trek in Torres del Paine. Most of the locals & guides at the lodge didn't believe me until I showed them the pics since these deer are quite rare in that Park.

My friends were cycling the Carretera Austral on a tandem, and were at the marble caves at about the same time you posted your “short” video of the caves. Despite the dust, I hope to do this route on my bike one day.
@AliceFordAdventures10 ай бұрын
I do remember passing a tandem and all I could think was that they were probably regretting that idea. At least there’s plenty of rivers to wash off all that dirt

They are in Ushuaia now, and don’t seem too much worse for the wear, but I have not heard many details yet.

@@gfelkner Hope so , I suppose 4 legs are better than two. But even driving that road in a car is tough going.

I did a 5 day backpacking trip in early winter in Cerro Castillo, right past that lake, and up over the boulder field that was behind you, and then down into another valley. This was close to 20 years ago by now! There was an inch of snow on the rocks, making it difficult!

Wow that’s incredible it must have been even more wild then

@@AliceFordAdventures Ruta 40 was unpaved back then, spent several months driving along the whole route from Bariloche up through the Cerraterra Austral, and doing several backpacking trips along the way. Pretty intense trips we did back then, of course, when you're 22 you're fearless and put yourself into some sketchy siutations! After getting over the pass behind Cerro Castillo, it snowed over a foot that night, and we would've been in trouble without snowshoes if we were still up by the lake the previous night.

WOW... Should I say it again? 😊 You've been travelling the Southern Hemisphere for a while now, it is summer down there, except for that part you spent in Antarctica. Brrr...💨❄️ Thanks for sharing Alice. Interesting as always. Pristine views, and many similarities with the landscape and fauna we have up here in Canada. 🇨🇱🇨🇦🥾🏔️⛺️

Thanks Radisson yes, I spent a fair amount of time down there. It’s such a huge area. It would be almost impossible to see it in just a week. Thanks as always for watching and you can always say wow again.

About cyclists: friends have done Ushuaia to Bariloche in 40 days with sections on the Carretera Austral; no complaints about the dust, but the wind is always savage. And yes, bikers are road heroes!
