Thank you, I wanted to know if a curved bit and coved bit profile would fit together , for joining a piece of wood at 90 deg to a piece that’s been round over routed. This gave me the answer.

Hi Sir, thanks for showing this technique. I am making a new table for my radial arm saw and was going to add two drop-down sides. Guess how I am going to make the edges look now? A rule joint of course. The only issue is that the top is chipboard and what would probably work best is a rule joint in a solid timber. No problem. Thanks a lot.

Appreciate the straightforward explanation of a rule joint! I'm dying here because my material is 1 inch thick rather than 3/4 inch. I'm not sure if "standard" cove/roundover bits will give me the desired effect, and furthermore since this material is thicker than my normal 3/4 inch stuff I don't have a lot of scrap to play with. Any advice would be appreciated!

I had the same issue, I just routed it deeper with the round-over bit, then routed the cove bit to match. It made the lip thicker but it all hinged the same as the radius was still working on 3/4". I don't have the project anymore and can't find any pictures. But it worked.

I have a 7/8 inch top on a project. Will the same bit set work or do I need larger bits. Thanks
