I have processed quite a load of information today and every now and again my brain takes a chunk of information and correlates it to create a knowledge bond. by the time I return to focus I've missed valuable information

Could you please clarify again what does and does not support Manual and Automatic summarization. The slide "Classful and Classless RPs" say that only classful routing protocols support manual summarizations. However in the Summary slide, the classless RPs are marked as supporting manual summarizations. Could you also clarify on Autosummarization and VLSMs.

Here is an example based on my research RIPv1 - Classful Routing Protocol will always use Route Auto-Summarization by default. RIPv2 - Classless supports Route Auto-Summarization which by default is Enabled. We can Disable it using “no auto-summarization” command EIGRP - Classless supports Route Auto-Summarization which by default is Enabled. We can Disable it using “no auto-summarization” command Manual Route Summarization is another topic you can try to google it. There is no perfect instructor out there, sometimes we need to use other resources to understand some topic. Don't just relay on one source.
