If you want to try something cheap but possibly rewarding, the Sony Handycam DV tape range has some really good analog sensors, it did incredibly well on FPV over a 5.8ghz transmitter, but connected directly via cable it was just bizarre. I'm planning to build a SeaPerch, to locate and mark obstructions in a local fishing pond, and I'm thinking about adding a handycam (*or similar) analog sensor to it, because of the clarity. Got PVC fittings for cheap around here, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this project, after looking at €3k+ readymade ROV's, and hearing my wallet fluttering in the wind.. You used PN16 cpvc, correct? That "blend" might be more impact resistant than the no pressure rating stuff. Also, makes for an interesting side-remark. If you glue your flotation tubes down good and solid, with CPVC, it can handle some pressure. You could add buoyancy by tapping in a bike valve (schrader type, mtb inner tube), or for example, a 1/8"-to-schader valve from a pressure tank from a domestic central heating system. With that, you could finetune the volume of air by adding pressure with a bicycle pump. Just remember to keep in mind the pressure difference.. All in all, great project, very nicely done. Hope I can get close to your results.

I’m not quite sure, I’m grasping this correctly. Just be sure not to use high frequency transmitters (Wi-Fi 2.4 or worse yet 5.8 ghz) under water. Only low frequency systems work. As for the pvc pipes, they are pressure resistant to 10 Bar or 100 m of water depth. Not sure what specific kind of pvc that is. Sorry. ☺️
