Rovan 30.5 engine rebuild (Nightmare gets a new heart)

So today I rebuild my first engine
I have gone with an ESP championship ported high torque top end and +2mm stuffed crank.
This is more than just throwing hop up parts at an engine, this is a full rebuild.... the only rovan parts left on the engine now are the clutch, flywheel, coil, and crank case, maybe some day I'll change that out too 😉

sounds great i got a rovan buggy and stuck a 6k clutch why folks like 10k still do not get it i guess its the fast launch but it does not move till its going high rpm to me when i try that was annoying in the turns all or nothing lol

Yea it's definitely not a truck you can go slow with. If you try you wind up burning up a clutch. But it launches way harder lol. You definitely have to learn to corner a little different with it but as somebody who just bashes I like it perfectly fine.

it's because of the idiotic "upgrade" mentality and lack of basic understanding what high rpm clutch does. All they see is big number and think it's better 😂 I also actively looked for low rpm clutch spring, like 5 or 6k can't remember it's much better. Probably stock zenoah.spring or some aftermarket. It's white. Once warmed starts moving almost immediately above idle

Totally missed this comment sorry about that, Thank you for the kind words I hope you enjoyed the video. Tuning is something that I'm still learning. If it was something I could physically touch and put my hands on it wouldn't be so hard, but you have to do this stuff by ear and understand what the truck is trying to tell you. I've been doing my best to just run it as rich as I can and still get decent performance. Unfortunately something happened with the previous engine and I could never get it to tune right. I don't know what was going on with it but it made me look like a complete idiot for multiple videos regarding this truck. I finally decided screw it I'll just build my own engine at least that way I know how everything works 🤣 Thanks for watching hope you enjoyed I'll see you next time 😀👍

Cool video mate,just about build mine from rovan 29cc up to 30.5cc with stuffer crank,head and crankcase.what kind of sealant did you use in bwtween the crankcase.

2mm crank- new ESP TOP IS made for that. DDM has no specs for Zenoah G320RC I doing same

Hi , have a dead rovan 29 cc engine could i change everything for Zenoah parts exept for the crankcase. Any help would be appreciated, many thanks and great video.

Sorry for the late reply. The engine I have is a 30.5, the 29 and below I do believe are different. Unfortunately I don't know enough about these engines to give you reliable information regarding the 29. The only reason I was able to build this engine was thanks to friends and people in Facebook groups giving me information.
