I have this BH, and use it a subie Outback 3.6R. Great concept but a little blah on the interior fit and finish, however if you like to tinker it's quite easy to mod up to look quite nice and moving to LiFePO4 has helped as well. Have fun.

What other lightweight campers have you come across that have the bunk option? The concept is here, but this does not look like it will hold up to camping where we live.

You can find some additional info on my website outdoorsmadesimple.com. I did a blog post on the 7 trailers we considered. I also have a searchable database you can filter by bunk beds if you want to look at all the trailers that I've found that are

@@outdoorsmadesimple thanks. Yes, something light and off-road. We live in N. Colorado and Wyoming, and disperse camping pulls apart pretty much all the off the shelf campers. The mantis is cool, but 18' long? thats silly. Still doesnt have a dedicated table?

Have you considered a pop-up camper? They make some that are meant for off road now and you get a lot of interior space with those once they are popped up. Before our Alto, we had a pop-up that was 20 years old and still going strong.

@@outdoorsmadesimple for sure. we currently have a flagstaff mac I flipped the axels on. The opus is great, but super heavy and really expensive. Not sure what else is out there in this category. The Opus just has too many unnecessary things that contribute to the weight. Also, the black series. Do you know of others?

@@markkuthielkozak8753 I think you have found the industry weak spot! I have not found anything light weight that is good for off road. It think the trade offs for weight make it hard to do both. I have seen people go some pretty impressive places with 16 ft airstreams and fiberglass trailers like Scamp. But it sounds like those would not meet your needs. Let me know if you find anything!

Rove Lite spent so much time and effort for the coach construction but totally dropped the ball on the interior. It looks cheap and bland, this could be a real winner with some improvements.

I agree, I think the tradeoffs were made to keep it at certain price point. This is almost $15-20k less than some of the competitors.
