The Rover 75 can be described as the beginning of the end of the beautiful story of Rover - the company that used to produce cars for 103 years (till 2006)!!! In 1949 the first after-WW II car: Rover 75 was presented: a modern luxury saloon of the highest quality. Exactly 50 years later (1999) the modern model 75 was introduced with many details that remind the old times. Rover was one of the first company's that recognized a trend of retro-styled cars and have done it in a perfect way. This car never gets old from appearance. Sadly the 75 was also the last model in the history of Rover Company and its production was terminated in 2006. There were only 211175 cars produced, so the possibility that we are dealing with a future classic is high.
Personal thoughts: It's a big loss for the motorist that this company is not existent anymore. The car was ahead of its time and the driving experience is as good as in a higher quality new car. There are fewer and fewer cars in good condition so it is a good moment to buy one and preserve it for the future.
Car Rambler - Car test drives - POV. The older the better car!

Thank you for such a great video. I am from the UK and we had one when new. It was a beautiful and special car. This brings back so many memories. Ours was a diesel manual, but this V6 automatic is fantastic. They are unreliable, but I just love the style and design. I have driven one and loved the heaviness of the drive and the fabulous suspension. One strange thing I've always loved is the indicator tick and the oval indicator symbols on the instrument cluster! Just a lovely quintessentially British car and not boring like today's cars!

The 2.5 V6 is tough unit, just make sure the belts have been done as its a tough job. The only real failure point they have is the thermostat which is an awful BMW thing mounted in the centre of the V. Get a metal replacement and they're bombproof. My grandfather bought one new in 1999 and it clocked over 300k miles! The auto gearbox is okay, earlier cars have a few more issues IIRC. Just make sure you change the transmission fluid every couple of years. If you find one you'll love it, they're wonderful cars. I'm a fan of the V8 myself but realistically the V6 is the best engine for the car.

@@CarRambler1 Faktycznie.
