Barry Swigart if you actually load the list in it comes in about 80, then if you adjust to include damages etc it makes it close to 50, idk why it shows it as so expensive lol

700.2g A copy of a modal spell or ability copies the mode(s) chosen for it. The controller of the copy can’t choose a different mode. Mob rule will not work as youve said.

To anyone looking to build this deck, be sure to check out Clockspinning! It's budget, and with Will's -2 ability, it becomes a repeatable single target (doesn't actually target) proliferate, great for getting to those emblems a few turns earlier and will definitely surprise your opponents!

Great video, just one thing: I'm pretty sure that if you copy a modal spell, you also copy the modes chosen, meaning that mob rule wouldn't actually gain control of all creatures.

Just a tip, when copying a spell, you copy the chosen modes as well. Mob rule can't get you all creatures if copied.

10:35 Actually, when you copy a modal spell, you can't change the chosen modes. Modes are chosen as part of the process of casting the spell, before targets are selected; and copying a modal spell does _not_ allow you to change the chosen mode(s) for the copy, even if the spell or ability creating the copy say "you may choose new targets".

Unless I missed something, Mob Rule cannot gain control of all creatures if you copy it. The mode is chosen on cast as per the rules on the card itself. When copying a spell on the stack, all modes are copied as well. You do not get to choose new modes for the copy. 706.10. To copy a spell, activated ability, or triggered ability means to put a copy of it onto the stack; a copy of a spell isn’t cast and a copy of an activated ability isn’t activated. A copy of a spell or ability copies both the characteristics of the spell or ability and all decisions made for it, including modes, targets, the value of X, and additional or alternative costs. (See rule 601, “Casting Spells.”) Choices that are normally made on resolution are not copied. If an effect of the copy refers to objects used to pay its costs, it uses the objects used to pay the costs of the original spell or ability. A copy of a spell is owned by the player under whose control it was put on the stack. A copy of a spell or ability is controlled by the player under whose control it was put on the stack. A copy of a spell is itself a spell, even though it has no spell card associated with it. A copy of an ability is itself an ability.

I created a deck with the wonder twins and all I did was make my friends angry with me. XD It was my first EDH deck and I tried to adjust it to make it fairer, and I quickly learned to never attempt to build it again lol. The twins abilities are just too oppressive, but I enjoyed seeing the tech regardless. If people are in a meta that this can fit in, then go for it!

People just don't like to play against control w/ combo finish. Will and Rowan naturally lean into control w/ combo finish. As long as you aren't bothered by 3-v-1s, Will and Rowan can be a fun experience for the whole table, in much the same vein as a value engine control deck like Muldrotha.

I recently built a Will/Rowan deck and highly recommend adding Basalt monolith if you can afford it. Typically your finisher is going to be big X spells, and Basalt generates infinite mana with Rowan's emblem

@@leolee6595 Rowan's emblem copies abilities that aren't Mana abilities. So you tap Basalt for 3 Mana. Using the 3, you activate the untap ability on Basalt. Rowan's emblem puts the untap ability onto the stack again. Resolve the copied untap first so Basalt is untapped with the original untap ability on the stack. Tap Basalt for 3 in response to the original untap activation. Original untap resolves and Basalt monolith is now untapped and you have 3 colorless mana floating. You can also look up the Basalt Monlith and Rings of Brighthearth combo as it functionally works the same, but you don't need to pay the additional 2 generic to go infinite if you have Rowan's emblem
