Thanks for diving into this subject.. I am an avid cyclist. I have been rowing consistently for the past two years to support my cycling.

How has it helped your training personally?

@@DarkHorseRowing Lower back strength for sure. And upper back strength as well. Leg strength has improved. I'm in my 50's and these three things listed above have helped me stay with the younger guys and in many cases win those local "signpost" sprints. :)

Thank you, excellent presentation. I'm just starting to use indoor rowing as a supplement to my cycling, partly due to lower back issues.

Great video and Thxs for he training plan. Also as a cyclist I also appreciate the benefits of the indoor rowing. A safety tip for you pls place a rear light underneath of your bicycle saddle, is easy to be seen from a vehicle that comes on a different direction than the one that goes on the same one of you😉.

🤙 I remember suggesting this topic to you and I have to thank you for your time and the knowledge on this matter 🚵♂️🐎 now that I’m back healthy after being out of training for three weeks for some injury I know from where to move forward with this information that couldn’t come at a better time.Thanks again

As a decades long road cyclist slowly developing bad posture habits, this is exactly what I need! I'm on the wait list for a Concept 2 rower and I intend to use your 30 minutes workout suggestion. One question, how frequently would you suggest performing this workout? I ride 5 to 7 times, or 10 to 12 hours, per week. Thanks!

I'm a recreational 58yr old cyclist. I have been pondering either a rower or skierg, (or both?) for cross-training. What I'm reading thus far is that rowing is primarily lower body/posterior chain dominant whereas the skierg is more upper body/torso dominant. If I already has an indoor cycling trainer, (Kickr) would the skierg be better because it's hitting parts of my body that cycling misses?

How do you rate rowing as a core workout for a road cyclist?
@DarkHorseRowing6 жыл бұрын
What's my scale I get to use in this rating system?

Rowing is good for strengthening your back... which can be an issue with cycling... as long as you can row with good technique

University of San Diego, 2005 - 2009. Stroked the M8+ in 08-09 (maybe 07' too but I can't quite remember) and at US Collegiate National Championships in 09.

Why do you use the word "issues"? Say "problems". Issues are topics of discussion, NOT problems.
