Yes the stat will decrease, but the latest update for pet system said that the stat decreased is not as much as the previous version

Damn I must be lucky then, I got the headgear through monthly random premium headgear box and I evolved it with only one attempt. couldn't ask for more lol. I got no idea that it decreases a lot of levels if it fails to evolve.

the headgear only consumed if the evolution is success, if failed it will return back to the backpack.
