I have played this track on drums many times in different formats and this is a great version. HSCC are always good and this is no exception but bear in mind that there are 7 musicians on stage here as opposed to 3 in the original 3 Police. I am 64 and remember all the Police records from way back. If it wasn't for original acts like them, cover bands wouldn't exist but HSCC are one of the best of course.

One of my favourite covers on the Internet this. Love what the basisst is doing; It’s almost like he’s leading the band with his melodic playing in this track. So much feel and brilliant dynamics. Love the arpeggio’s from the guitarist (pink strat). Drummer is tighter than a zipped pocket! I’ve probably listened to this about 10 times now. Just inspires me as a bassist myself!

Now that was really, really amazing (after last week's unfortunate Kiss cover ) Fabulous arrangement, new chord structures (and yet overall so incredibly faithful to the original). Cracking guitar solo followed by the beautiful section where the bass went quiet and came back again so effectively... Re: the vocals, I don’t need to say anything. They speak for themselves. Far more authentically reggae then the police themselves. Faultless - and absolutely mind-blowing.

It's very cool!!! This most melodic, at the time that sting recorded was only Bass, Guitar, Drums and of course vocal, but with the HSCC Band it gave an extra spice !!!

@Tiger Hawkz - Agreed. This is to be appreciated as a re-working, rather than a cover. I am a big fan of #HSCC, and admire the always tight drums and percussion of Messrs Todd & Todd. But ... it doesn't work as a cover as there is no reggae-style backbeat (bass-drum strike on the third beat rather than the second and / or fourth), which was the hallmark of Stewart Copeland on all the early Police tracks.

Same here. When they started, I thought WTF... what's that organ doing there and what's up with the overplayed drumfill-intro..... but then... it just made sense. The changed chord scheme, the reggae feel, the mix, everything. Absolutely great. Coming from someone who sold his Pearl kit and started playing TAMA drums in 1982 because Stu played TAMA. So yeah, I'm a Police-fan ;-)

The Police are a favorite of mine, got to see them live in 2008 at the Gorge in Washington State. I like this slightly different take on this track. Welk done! I think either "Wrapped Around your Finger" or "Synchronicity ll" would be good songs to cover, would love to hear this covered.

Listened to the original after hearing this version. This is NOT "The Police"! But hey, this is not required to be " The Police". This is THSCC playing a " prohibited expletive" great rendition of " a Police " song! There is something such as " artistical freedom" and " personal interpretation". On the other hand, I would love to hear Con playing the original bassline, because only the truly great bass players can play it, and he can!
