THANK YOU!!! ❤❤❤ so so much!! Everyone shows how to decrease one but ur the only one I could find who showed multiple! Much love for this because i am teaching myself from KZbin so you’ve just gave me a good lesson 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much. I had a pattern in lace knitting that called for an 8 stitch decrease. Needless to say, I tried and finally gave up. When I find this UFO, I can work on it again and use this method for the decrease. It is so much easier and now possible to do.

O love how you make things look so easy...and so logical.. not bring a logical thinker myself, I always find your instructions understandable, and helpful....Especially since my knitting experiences is fairly limited. There is SO much I don’t know..

I've used a crohet hook for knit three togethers when I couldn't insert my needle thorough an unstretchy yarn. Slip the stitches onto the hook and pull the yarn through. That only works if a crochet hook is nearby, but then it usually is for fixing dropped stitches. It was really nice to see this version though and the way you explained it means I now have a better concept I general for how these decreases work. I also think decreases I a pattern are interesting. I recently did it in 1x1 ribbing. Though I've also knit a swatch of brioche and did stoke reading on the topic. Things can quickly very complicated on how you have to reorder and remount stitches....

This is amazing! You explained it all so well. I better understand the simple decreases now, and I can apply that knowledge to multiple stitch decreases! Thank you!

Thank you! I was trying to knit four together in a pattern and my efforts resulted in splitting the yarn more than once! Wish I'd seen this sooner!

Great video!!! Thank you so much. I am just about finished with a shawl that called for SSK and I did them as purls and not knits. Wish I had seen this video way sooner. You are great!

Again... LOVE! Not too much and not to little [info]. And it all makes perfect sense... I hadn't thought of doing it this way. But I'll definitely be using this method in the future! 😉

Very useful video (as all af yours ). I'm from Argentina and I've noticed that in spanish knitting books or magazines the usual method descripted is "slip one, knit the next and pass the 1st over the 2nd" for leaning left decrease (skp). The ssk way it's not usual and I've learnt it on youtube. Surprised to know it's been used aprox.since 70's 😯.

I don't think it really caught on until other reference books started mentioning it a decade or more later. Even though I found it listed in that Knitter's Magazine, I don't believe I ever encountered it in a knitting pattern until after 2000.

Hi Roxanne I am excited to learn this new technique! I've been frustrated with the way my hat crown decreases still appear to have some gap when I K2TOG. I knit a row in between each decrease row for a gradual decrease but once I close the hat I still have some gap/ladder like holes. It's not too bad but I really want to achieve a more tidy crown. Doing this instead did exactly that. Thank you!
@nancypalmierievans63336 жыл бұрын
Really could have used this last week while I was knitting a hat which required k3tog for crown. My yarn was DK and the stitches looked bulky. You're just going to have to move next door to me in North Carolina.

I have never seen a pattern with a knit 5 together, or any other 5 stitch decrease. What type of pattern would use this? I love your videos, please keep up the good work! Thank you.

Patterns that use "nupps" will often require a k7tog (such as Estonian lace patterns)

Wish I had seen this technique before I knit my one and only Estonian lace shawl! Thank you for the clarity of your explanations.

I do have a request and that is a lesson on chart patterns. Here it is: Knitting question on a chart pattern that had a row of knits and scattered across the pattern was: M, XS, XL. What does that mean on a chart pattern?
