There is so much rubbish written about artists and records being underrated. Who, listening to this,has underrated it?
@regretto5 ай бұрын
@@johnenglish929 answering your question: the public, obviously. songs' destiny is usually defined by so many factors of the industry. contemporaries often fail to recognise a great song. i would give two examples that i like from bowies catalogue: man who sold the world and moonage daydream. the former was an obscure forgotten number elevated by cobains mtv unplugged performance and is now considered one of bowies finest songs. the latter was initially considered just one the ziggys fine louder rockers, never was released as a single, but 50 years after release, being vastly covered, appearing in numerous soundtracks, it has become the second most popular song on the album after starman. i think that psalm is incredible and deserves more recognition. hopefully this will happen as it did with mother of pearl. but who knows. take care! cheers from Russia!

On all the first 4 albums together there are not more than 2, 3 not so good pieces. They are all so good that it is hard to say which is the best. But there are some songs that stick out far above, and If There is Something is one of them. The emotional way he sung at this time was utter brilliance. But I love also the bass and the drums.
