I can't deny that Rudy is 100% exceptionally gifted but if we're talking about potential in talent then pax might be the same if not better than Rudeus. Because it is said by Orsted that the other timeline ( without Rudeus ) Pax would have showed immense leadership and would have been a talented leader. ( Credits to :@theycallmedio )

@@Roloki454 Rudeus has played an indellible part in affecting pretty much everyone in that world, for good or bad. Even his closest family: he brought immense joy to his parents for being born, but he significantly altered the fates of his sisters, with Aisha especially having her fate utterly derailed. It wouldn't be an overstatement that he changed the world by himself.

@@neopolitan9156In other loops she was educated by Roxy (who then picked Sylphy up as an apprentice when she was done) and became a mage knight for the Kingdom of Asura, one of the most talented on record. The Prodigy Mage Knight. She married a subordinate 10 years her junior and is implied to have been the one to manage Akito's summoning in the previous version of the loop. There's theories she'd apprenticed under Perugius as well. In Rudeus' timeline she became his personal maid and later the defacto head of his intelligence agency. Not much is talked about her magical talent beyond what Rudeus taught her at home.

He was very humble and diligently tried to do well under Roxy at first. When pax noticed all his efforts didn't gain her recognition, he just let himself go.

He was a kid who didn't have his brothers gift and would never see himself on the throne. He spent his formative years being shunned, basically, and was even sent away. At the end, he found something that could have been happiness... a wife who loved him and all of his stories... but his past kept him down, and his ascension was marred with more shunning, and it pushed him over the edge. And to those saying he was a pervert, I urge you to remember that any attention is good attention when no one will give you the time of day otherwise, especially as a kid. Frankly, he's another extremely well thought out character in this series.

Pax was born short, not goodlooking, untalented with magic, in a family with an extraordinary older brother. He was doomed to be looked down upon by his society. He became bitter and defensive because of how others treated him. It showcases how people born with below average circumstances are treated in society and why some of them become bitter and spiteful no matter how hard they try.

And then you have someone who passingly has it out for you to make it all even worse. Man-God sent Rudeus to knock him down a few pegs, getting exiled to the empire holding his kingdom as a vassal; then he got the empire's king to order him to take over his kingdom, placing huge expectations on his shoulders, which he by design would fail. Feeling underappreciated despite your best efforts and being set up to fail in a spectacular way is a pretty effective way to have one's spirit crushed.

The Shirone arc was actually one of my favorites because not only did we get some bro moments with Rudy and Zanoba, we also get to see a redemption arc for Pax To me, I always see the series as Rudeus's journey to find redemption for all the things he was in his past life but then we got struck with Pax's redemption in this arc. Even Orsted himself said that Pax would've ended up to become a great leader in another timeline if he had lived

Not really, even if Pax never did those things, she still never would have acknowledge his prowess/effort. Her expectations changed after teaching Rudeus, she admits it herself.

@@alexl.p8223 It's a great arc because it showcases how people treat others based on arbitrary expectations and start seeing people like this as sub human no matter how hard they work. Our own protagonist rudeas wasn't so different from pax in his previous life.

@@VivyfNot that it affects the current timeline. It just shows what could've been. The other timeline is still Pax himself so if Roxy just taught Pax, a developing child, properly, his talent for leadership would have blossomed and he wouldn't have been as miserable.

He was also indirectly responsible for the teleportation incident. Which we learn at the end of novel 26. We don't know exactly why but somehow him changing the word to such a point caused it.

Crippling self doubts, it happens to the even the best of us, especially since taking aside all those times he tried to grope her he really did want to prove himself to Roxy It's like with Rudeus who worshipped her as someone he looked up to and wanted to make her proud, but with Roxy constantly comparing him to Rudy, it just broke his self esteem to the point he believed he will never get the respect he deserved from Roxy And sadly not even a loving wife and family would be able to mend that

Well.. He's depressed, so depressed in fact that even if roxy/rudeus didn't meet him in shirone arc he will still kill himself or get killed. His kingdom is in turmoil after coup d'etat, not that long after he also got coup d'etat. But well.. The main problem is his low self-esteem, treated as garbage and fool prince in the castle, get exiled to somewhere, work so hard till got power to coup his father and sibling, got a wife that mentaly "crippled" in the process, success becoming a king and then here in the end he was couped by many. No love, no appreciation, crushed pride, have no hope left, and cant relying someone else. He was one of the most tragic fate in rudeus universe

He was set up by the Man-God. He had massive expectations placed on him by the king of the King Dragon Realm (by order of the Man-God) and he had a coup undermining what little authority he had as an usurper (coup lead by a man likely ordered to do so by the Man-God). Add to that his pre-existing self-confidence issues, stemming from never being appreciated either as a person or for his accomplishments. He had no way out. He can't surrender, because he'll be killed by the rebels; he can't return to the KDR, because he'd be shamed and his family destroyed by the king of that empire; he can't go into exile, since that would make him an outlaw and he'd be a wreck of a man and a liability to his wife. The only way out for him was that fifth floor balcony.

He was doomed anyway, the Dragon King Realm was ready to kill him. All this, because of Zanoba worship Young Rudy's Talent *Man God order Pax to killed Rudeus avoiding Roxy Pregnancy. What Pax understand, impregnated Roxy by himself and THEN, kill Rudeus Wanna know a plot twist? Sending the Dragon King Relm and the war was ONLY a small example of his Wrath

Am i really suppoosed to feel bad for Pax, when hes the one who kidnapped families, threatened to sell them to slavery/murder them, and planned on keeping Roxy as a sex slave and murdering Rudy just because Roxy didnt particularly care about him? He was a prince. He was born naturally ahead of most people in thr world money and power wise, and was even apparently a solid magician. Im not gonna feel bad about nobody liking him when his behavior contributed to nobody liking him lol
