Hi Daphne! Thank you! You are too kind. I did a learned a little basic embroidery as a child (we won't say how long ago lol). I did do cross stitch in my 20's but that is also a very long time ago. I am also learning so much from Rachel and Sarah as I have never done slow stitching before. It is so relaxing and I'm really enjoying it. I hope you will share your work in the Facebook group. I will watch for your name 😉. Everyone there is so nice and I'm sure would love to see your work and encourage you. 🥰

Hi Sarah! Thank you so much! I am brand new to this. I've done a little bit of old fashioned embroidery in my childhood, I did cross stitch in my 20's and just started junk journaling about a year and a half ago so I think those collage skills definitely helped. I really appreciate you and Rachel both for doing this series because your instruction and demonstration are perfect and it's been so much fun learning from you and being able to participate with such a generous group of makers. ❤️

Hi Sherry! I love your January Bouncing Bunny and Vintage Lace block! It is ALL so fabulous! From your winter wonderland landscape with beautiful snow drifts, a smokey chimney, hidden messages and words, and that adorable fluffy bunny... it is ALL so fabulous! I considered making mine a winter scene also, and now that I have seen yours I think it is a wonderful choice! { I haven't been able to start mine yet due to delays, so I am starting off really far behind already. But I guess the upside to that is that I am able to have a peek at others ideas & progress.} Your stitching is really beautiful ... I love all of the different the snow flakes that you added to the sky area.. I really like the idea that it actually resembles your own homes setting. Great idea! Great job! TFS Happy Stitching! Thank you so much! I'm very behind myself. I've been starting my months around the 10th which means I should decide if my May page is finished today and do a video lol. I still have not finished my title page or done a thing on my cover. I think I'm probably going to pass on the next series as they will be doing two pages per month with a winter or Christmas theme and I think I'd rather do my own thing and work on covers and spines for "junk" journals. 🥰

You were doing something with your painted pages, and you had added alphabet stamping to some of your pages. I asked what stamps you used and where you got them? Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful work with us. No matter what you're doing, it always comes out beautiful!! 😊❤️

Hi Cindy! For some reason your comments are going to "held for review" as "potential spam" 🤔...I don't know why but I didn't see them until today so I will go back and look. I've decided on the ticking because I do have a thing for lots of pattern and mixing them up in different ways so hopefully I can pull it off. I think you're referring to the painted junk mail?....I will be listing those papers on Etsy today...so excited! The letters were done with a stencil from Shawn Petite called Old Type Text Large. I'll be uploading a video of those papers with some additional collages and master boards very soon. ❤️

🤣 Mine too Pam! Thank you for checking in. I am uploading the next video with another paper pack and in it I address the whole buying a printer issue and my experience so I hope you find this information helpful while you are on your own search. Regardless of what printer you buy, I think you'll find my experiments with different papers and settings useful...at least I hope you will. It can be such a frustrating experience so I'm hoping my troubleshooting will help others. Thanks for all the sweet comments about my page 🥰

@@heartandsoulfuldesign YES! The troubleshooting of someone else's experience is everything! Where printers are concerned, i've always bought them in person. There's so many things to consider. I've done more research since we've talked and realized the screen size and whether or not there's a paper drawer is very important to me. these are the things i notice better when i'm in a store. Online? i'm doing so much reading and comparing that my key needs can get lost in the shuffle! In the end, i'll probably buy in-store. I look forward to watching that next video. Your page is great! It was wonderful listening to your decisions as you made your creation. I vote for the muslin. I have seen a few videos using the book page style where they sew each stitched page to the wide spread, then sew just the edges together, sometimes adding lace or trims. That way the backs are hidden. It's a bit like sewing cut edges back together like the fold. The title page would go on the right side and you can cut off the left side like Rachel's flap to glue down to cover or use the whole page to create the inside cover as another stitchery page or add a pocket or ....whatever. What a wobble gob!🤐
@heartandsoulfuldesign2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Sue! That was my original thinking but I've decided to do the accordion style with the ticking so finger's crossed...I may just have to do another one the other way too just to see which I like best lol.🥰

The oatmeal muslin is a good one, but the ticking might be more fun! Who said the base page fabric had to be the same?? Maybe try alternating the 2?
@heartandsoulfuldesign2 жыл бұрын
I LOVE that idea! Would be easier to alternate with the book page style but I've decided to try the accordion...looks like I'll need to be making more books to try all the options 🤣
@vicky-akastichr-davis46762 жыл бұрын
@@heartandsoulfuldesign Easier as book page style, yes, but can be accordioned also. Just add a seam line, at the 'fold', stitching the fabrics wrong sides tog. with frayed edges....orrr....right sides tog, creating a clean edge seam. Maybe sandwich lace between?? What kind of fabric is the page made of? Is it plain cotton? Where did you buy it? This sounds like fun
@heartandsoulfuldesign2 жыл бұрын
Hi. This is a project led by Rachel & Sarah (sisters) of Roxy Creations. Every month they give you prompts for that month's page. It is lots of fun. We just got the March prompts. I will be doing a video for my February page probably today. I'm just now starting my title page...you can start whenever you want and just go at your own pace. In the first several videos they do an introduction to explain everything and tell you which type of materials you might want to use. I believe I put a link to their playlist in the description of that video. I just used some cotton fabric that I already had. It's nothing special or fancy, you can use anything you want for the bases. I'm brand new to slow stitching so it's a great way to learn all about it. 🥰
