Did you know that in the Netherlands we have our own Edith Holden? Her name is Marjolein Bastin and she is certainly as good as Edith Holden. It might be fun to check out her work too!

This sounds like a lovely project and straight away the field notes project reminders me of our own Ellis Rowan with her lovely illustrations of Australian native flowers birds and insects. I love Edith Holden books and her talent is amazing . It will be great to view everyone’s projects .I am of to look at my Edith Holden books and also my Ellis Rowan book that I got years ago at her exhibition at The Qld museum . Amazing start to the day watching yours and Rachel ‘s videos and being inspired to look at talented and inspiring women from the past.

Oh how lovely. I follow a lady on KZbin, the channel is called The Mindful Narrowboat And she does a very Edith Holden style of diary at the end of every video with a poem and drawings. Which might also inspire some.

Your favourite illustration- years ago I projected it onto the end of my kitchen cupboards and painted it. Gone now. Must see if it appears in any photos. Don’t think so.😕

I love Edith Holden. I have been avidly looking for her books, but not so far. I did find a few pages on Ebay which came from one of them, with December pages. All wintry in the UK compared to our Aussie Summer. I think I migh join in this time. Thanks Sarah.

I've already got a tablecloth started to depict things happening throughout the seasons, but this will my first journal, and I'm really looking forward to it. Nature has supplied us with an infinite library. Great idea!

Beautiful books always love the older sketches that people did in their books British were famous for the nature sketches with the watercolor added...I use to sketch some and use black pen and watercolor but now I am doing slow stitching...love your channel and your sisters....
