Roy Ayers must have been at his prime here! And this has to be without doubt, his best band to date! What a fine version of Everybody Loves The Sunshine. Pitty that the audience was not ready for the kind of greatness that stood before them on that day.
@marquiselektrek84522 жыл бұрын
Sphiwe Mashaba, I am a musician, and I agree with everything that you said! I've not heard all of the bands and ensembles that Mr. Ayers has played with, but it's hard for me to imagine any of them sounding as good as this one here, b/c the arrangement, musicianship, and virtuosity on display her is off the chart! The band and Roy Ayres are maddeningly tight! 😁 In fact this is one of my favorite live performances of all time! All genres of music considered! Lastly, it's so sad that there are very few of today's band's showcasing this level of skill and musicianship. Maybe today's kids can watch this video to see how it's done! Peace✌️

Been listening to Roy since the 70's. He, Grover Washington Jr, Ronnie Laws, Bob James, Dexter Wansel, Donald Byrd, The Crusaders and Lonnie Liston Smith took charge of the jazz-fusion movement and hit it out the park. One of my all time favorite artist. This audience must have been left over from an infomercial spot!
