@@quintinfranklin9168 I know exactly what you mean. I played it yesterday and this morning and will always continue to play it. I feel this live version is the best - out of all the other live versions and dare I say, even better than the studio album, which I bought when it was released in 1976. Ayers has this incredible way he puts his chords together. Whether it's this track or 'Searchin' or ' Runnin' away' etc. He's just brilliant!!

Roy Ayers must have been at his prime here! And this has to be without doubt, his best band to date! What a fine version of Everybody Loves The Sunshine. Pitty that the audience was not ready for the kind of greatness that stood before them on that day.
@marquiselektrek84522 жыл бұрын
Sphiwe Mashaba, I am a musician, and I agree with everything that you said! I've not heard all of the bands and ensembles that Mr. Ayers has played with, but it's hard for me to imagine any of them sounding as good as this one here, b/c the arrangement, musicianship, and virtuosity on display her is off the chart! The band and Roy Ayres are maddeningly tight! 😁 In fact this is one of my favorite live performances of all time! All genres of music considered! Lastly, it's so sad that there are very few of today's band's showcasing this level of skill and musicianship. Maybe today's kids can watch this video to see how it's done! Peace✌️

I was in college OU when I heard this at party went out and bought the eight track at Soundwarehouse on West Lindsey. And I played that bad boy all the time especially going down that two lane highway going home from school. It’s like a chant cause everybody’s love the sunshine. Here it is 2023 and it takes me back to the first time I heard. Oh I could run like the wind back then and so carefree.. Yes life.. in the sunshine..LB Thursday January 26, 2023…😊

I feel like this is definitively one of the greatest music tracks of all time. Those chords are beautiful. No wonder so many Deep House, Nu-Jazz, Hip Hop and Techno artists sample and are inspired by Roy Ayers and by extension, Miles Davis and other Jazz innovators. Truly incredible.

music like this is why hip hop and jazz were always supposed to stay linked together. a lot of hip hop artists put lyrics to songs like these that didn't have any or many lyrics, but the tone of the music helped create a positive mindstate which produced great rap music. most of today's hip hop is garbage, but then again, i was saying that 15 years ago. i'm a jazzhead at heart anyway, lol.

He, Grover Washington Jr, Ronnie Laws, Bob James, Dexter Wansel, Donald Byrd, The Crusaders and Lonnie Liston Smith took charge of the jazz-fusion movement and hit it out the park.
