I believe anyone who grew up in the late 50s, 60s, and 70s was blessed to experience extraordinary growth pains and pleasures of change in the US and the world. The 80s and 90s tried to hold on but we can clearly see how creativity, love for what, and who you feel is your own. The music, art, love, and respect are taking a downturn. Many of us had hope for progress and a better world just over the horizon. These days when we see another brother or sister who shared those years with us, we nod, say something accepting, and acknowledging with respect. I often feel sorry for these newer generations. They just don't know!

Actually, I blow some dudes minds with what a white boy knows his music...it's kinda funny. Just wanted to tell you that I have hooked back up with my old girlfriend. I was always mad at myself for not pursuing her. Anyway, her husband died of Luekemia, and I am divorced.....watch out. I used to listen to WDAS when I was in high school. Peace be to all....

I enjoy every version of this song, but most especially this rendition, because of the arrangement, plus every musician here, brings 100% + of their talent, and their love of music. There’s nothing like old school smooth music, especially when played live. I always loved the intro. Hearing it three times was like a birthday present. This song is one of if not thee greatest jazz innovation in history. There was nothing even close before or after it. On this version, someone lost sight of the Kool aspect. The original players were so cool, they wore shades and never smiled or sweated. The whole vibe was the definition of Kool.

In 1976 I won four backstage passes to the Providence Civic Center from a local AM radio station to see them. The group War opened for them.

The horns on the intro done it for me!! Then, the way the band changed it up and flowed right into summer madness. Look at all those instruments being played. Live music is where its at. I like how bands put the spotlight on every solo musician.Real music dont die!!Gotta RESPECT and APPRECIATE REAL MUSIC!!!!! Parts of this song has been sampled in soooooooo many song from artist such as Ice Cube, DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince. Again REAL MUSIC DONT DIE!!!!!!!! MUCH LOVE TO THE OLD SCHOOL!!!! 70s baby right here....... One love to the ones who respect the ESSENCE of music!!!!

Only discovered this song a few days ago and I'm addicted to it. It's truly magnificent! I play the keyboard myself and respect the supreme talent the keyboardist clearly has. Also you have to admire his enthusiasm. A joy to watch!

Wow...being a child of the 70s I already love this song, but this rendition is AMAZING...brother on the guitar sounded like Wes Montgomery. Also, I always knew this song was funky, but I never really caught hold of the psychedelic vibe until now.
