umm roy was born 39 , on road alone at 14 .. by late 50s .. he was this guy .. (justabout ) .. swelle etc .. mostly his invention .. 1960 he was this good already .. all later 60s greats (beck etc ) learnt a trick or two from roy ...

The drummer and bass player can't control them selves- they're bored with the tempo, and hot to trot ,so they don't really listen to Buchanan's dynamics, They don't know how to handle dramatic tension,or ride the groove, start trying to drive it to climax before the soloist is finished building.
