Roy was perhaps one the most under recognized guitar heros ever. Thanks for posting this gem.

Roy mesmerizes you with his incredible guitar wizardry . There's no one in his category His friend Jeff Beck was influenced by Roy greatly and we lost the one player close to Roy's techniques and style . Now they jam up in Heaven. I could listen to this man play all day long. Never get tired of such mournful sorrowful soulful expressions

Saw him live 3 times…but he used a newer Stratocaster at the time …this was 81 and 82…capitol theater twice....Passaic nj…Battery park pier concert Manhattan….Being a guitarist..I watched him intensely..learned the pick harmonics…especially on a tele treble pickup.

Finally found this.. I knew Roy was on Kirshner along with the Ozark Mountain Daredevils (and Chick Corea/Return to Forever.. WHAT a mix!!), but this is the first I've seen it. Was hoping to hear "Can I Change My Mind" but this is GREAT. Thanks to youtube (and uploaders!) so I can experience so much 'new' music.

thanks man! thanks! roy was so so so great! he picked up where hendrix left adding his personal touch... most of the stuff played by other guitarrist nowadys, comes from roy.... especially heavy metal players with their pinch armonics which sounded first in roy´s tele.. please keep on uploding material from his early seventies :)

He played "like Hendrix" ten yrs before Jimi....guess I wouldnt say he played where Jimi left off...he was already on!

@@alejandrovassallo4995 roy started in the 50s .. on rd at about 14yrs old .. when he first saw jimi he was dissapointed cause roy did it all with his ax , jimi used pedals ... they all came to see Roy play .. all the 60s players ... Roy was well before the rest and was taken far to soon ... RIP ROY BUCHANAN ..

Roy wasn't always pleasant listening but he was intense, he knew a lot of tricks, and they all came out. He could be melodic or a scorcher. What I appreciated was he didn't use any pedals and only had that Telecaster early in his career. Danny Gatton was his friend (genius need company) technically Danny plays rings around Roy. Roy however has that " sound" unique... last of the guitar heroes for me after Hendrix. The "new" generation are technically more advanced, but they don't have the soul.
