Nobody really appreciates what an amazing talent this man is because he never took himself seriously. Amazing player. I once read a quote from an interview with him, which I can't find and don't remember verbatim, where he was asked about how he wasn't taken seriously due to Hee Haw and if that bothered him. He said, yeah it did. Until he looked at his bank balance.

even the humor stuff is a great talent.... And to be doing the music AND the humor at the same time? I'v never seen anything like it.... and neither part of the act suffers as a result of the other... They are both on point. wow.
@jiggermast7 жыл бұрын
But isn't it great! Way too many of today's untalented, never mind talented showbiz folk seem to consider themselves God's gift to the public, it's refreshing in this way too serious world, to see a man like Mr Clarke, who has talent to spare, appear so very likeable.

This was back in the day when the artist knew how to be an entertainer as well. In country music, other than Marty Robbins, Roy had no equals to the "entertainment" part of it. This man FINALLY made it into the Country Music Hall of Fame and it was long overdue!!! Great artist! Great artist!!! What more needs to be said.

Marty Robbins loved to have fun on stage. Back in the 70s, PBS had their fundraising weeks in March, and they would show an entire Grand Ole Opry performance on TV. They did several of them. Marty Robbins was on stage singing, and he was told that it was time to wrap up the show. He said Roy Acuff was probably already in bed, and he would do the show as long as he wanted. Just then, Roy Acuff walked onto the stage. The crowd roared. It was a great TV moment.

Just found out that Roy Clark passed away today. I don't know why but this is the first song I heard him sing and it always stuck in my mind. I'm not a new country music fan but I always like the old singers like Johnny Cash, Mel Gillis Glen Campbell. Pasty Clone. , and Eddy Arnold. He was very good at what he did and I enjoyed listening to him. He will be missed. R.I.P. Roy.

This video of Roy Clark has a quality I've never seen before. It will stand the test of time as a classic--not just for the vocals but also for the ineffable expressions. It has a spirit of human development that should have an appeal to honest people of all races just as high artistic expression of any individual transcends race issues. The sad thing is that the people who put a racist label on this video do more to hurt the people of their own race. They are a burden to all men of good will

Today is 6/22/2020. Roy has been gone since my late brother's birthday... Nov. 15, 2018. Roy Clark was one of the most talented guitarists that America has had. He stands with Chet Atkins, Les Paul and Glen Campbell for talent. He loved acting up and this performance is one of many times that shows his vocal ability.
