Thank-you Jone, really appreciate your thoughts and insights. Been a fan my whole life of Roy Clark but to hear someone of your calibre comment is wonderful! ☮️👍

Roy was of course one of the best in several different instruments. He could play serious and then he had his funny side. As a kid I loved watching Roy on Hee Haw. It was a country music show with funny skits and singing. Roy could act so funny making different faces as he played. He was an entertainer for sure. And Roy could sing he could do it all.

That was a combination of blues, rock, and rockabilly.

It's hard for me to believe that Roy Clark along with Glen Campbell didn't make the Rolling Stone Magazines top 250 guitarist. To be able to play with such speed and accuracy with a clean tone is incredible. You need to check out Jerry Reed as well, he's another Country guitar player who can really play. Roy, Glen and Jerry are highly underrated guitar players mainly because of the genre of music they played. Love your video's! I can tell by the smile on your face watching him play that there is some serious admiration for is talent.

You're right, Rolling Stone threw names into a hat. Hell, they only mentioned Chet Atkins while talking about Duane Eddy. No "list" is gonna match everybody's pick, but damn near every legitimate list would have Roy Clark, Jerry Reed and Glen Campbell.

Because Rolling Stone sucks at music as much as they suck at politics

That list was pathetically stupid.

Chet Atkins is another great one.

The Rolling Stone top lists are an absolute joke. I don't even waste my time looking at them when they put nobody's like Kurt Cobain on the list. 😂😂😂

Jenny Says by Cowboy Mouth, minor hit by 90s rockers. Bit southern but the beat and catchyness is GOAT

I don't know why when they are rating guitar players they very seldom include Roy Clark in any of the list of great guitarists. Does not limit himself 21 style or genre of music he is just very versatile and you can tell he loves making music. Not to mention all the different instruments he is able to play and play proficiently

I believe Danny Gatton is just as, if not better than Roy. And MANY others. Listen for yourself.
