It's very hard for me to watch this without crying. Roy left us so much music, but he left us far too soon.

Absolutely beautiful!! Ever since his death, I have occasionally visited You Tube to watch and listen, mostly still in denial of his actual passing. I followed Roy like a big brother since the start of his career, and was just overjoyed that a young lion was carrying the torch of jazz for another generation. The musical tastes of the young leaves me with doubt that the genre will continue at a high standard since the musicians will have little incentive to enter the stream.

I would put Roy's flugel horn against any other horn player. Roy can get the overtones out of an instrument so well its rediculous

What a loss at 49 years of age. My favorite modern day trumpet player. May God bring peace to his family. Revelation 21:3, 4

Esto otro nivel de Jazz, sin pretensiones ni ego, auténtico, fresco clásico profundo y espiritual. El lenguaje de Roy es cautivante.

The gentle trumpet, a quiet love storyteller, invites us to stop, listen and let the sweet tones take us to a place where time stands still and emotions flow freely, like the softest of sighs.❤🎺
