If this doesn't touch your spirit, you are not human! Roy Hargrove was touched by the musical gods at birth. I cried on the day that he passed. Thank you Roy Hargrove for blessing the universe with your gift! May you continue to rest in peace!

Trust, in my opinion, might be his greatest work. You can literally feel the emotion drip out of it.. A bad relationship, sitting home at night worrying, that suspicion of infidelity, are you overthinking it? Are you going crazy over a girl/guy? Do you say something or hold it in and play it cool? He captures that pit of the stomach anxiety - or that feeling when you find out. When you see them but can't address it. When you lay awake in bed next to them and wonder. It's all in the song. You can feel it right in your gut. RIP Roy, your a legend.

Listening to the late Roy Hargrove since around 1991. Saw him live in NYC, prior to watching Miles and his nasty fusion funk band at the JVC Jazz festival. Thankyou Roy !!!!

Roy should be more celebrated. There hasn’t been a player with his melodic capacity since the late 1960s.
@williemakeit23469 ай бұрын
If only he had dedicated solely and fully to the music? What a crock of BS. Roy LIVED for the music. He was always at the jam sessions between shows and tours, playing his heart out in health and in sickness while mentoring young musicians at these sessions. He lived this music til his dying day!!
@TrainingWheels-xs1jj9 ай бұрын
@artisms7799 agreed . I met and talked with Roy over 9 years . He lived and breathed music . Used by God as a musical vessel. To say he wasn’t dedicated is an insult to him and his work. He will and always will be a gift to the world

Dedicated was the wrong word. I loved his playing and followed him since Berklee. As great as he was I feel he could have been the best trumpet player of all times. It’s a controversial topic.
