Love Roy Jones Jr he still is on my best pound for pounds list Roy is also a genius commentator I've learned so much from him throughout the years on HBO which is sad to say four 2019 HBO will no longer be covering boxing they've been doing this since 1973 that's sad

So sad to see Jones get beat like this, in his prime he would have mopped the floor with that pricks face...he's lost his last 3 fights and is a shadow of himself, needs to retire before he gets damaged

There were only a few seconds left in the fight....I'd venture to guess that the people hating on Smogger the loudest are the very same who tirelessly complain about Steele stopping the Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Meldrick Taylor match when he had to. Ironic...

Christ, this is sad to watch. So sad. Roy was great but somebody should stop him. Legally or physically get him out of the ring.

Not dirty, Jones was still standing. Ref should've jumped in, but Lebedev has to make SURE the fight is over if the ref doesn't stop it. Yes, Jones looked to be done, but we've all seem guys make amazing recoveries and come back to land a big punch and win. What would you say to Lebedev then? The truth is that Jones should've retired comfortably with money to spare years ago. The real sadness here is that Jones apparently hasn't managed his money wisely and has to keep fighting. Congrats2Hopkins

An ugly ending to what was once an illustrious career. A shell of a champion. But maybe the beauty of it all is he's willing to go out on his shield even in his 40s.

Translation of the 2 Russian commentators - “I’m shocked, I am in shock! Why didn’t the referee stopped it? There was absolutely no reason for the last two punches. Denis stepped back so the referee could have stopped it.” (Starts at 0:20 - you might be able to figure out that “Ya v shoke” means “I’m shocked”)

@elluzion9 you do realize that Roy's 1st loss as pro was on DQ, hitting Montiel Griffin when he was down. Lebedev did what he was supposed to do. Finish his man. However, Roy was out from the 1st right hand and sad to see him go down. If I seen Roy in the street, I would beg him not to fight again.

@mambocowboy I don't think its Lebedev's fault, all blame must be on the ref. The last punch Lebedev threw was because of Ref's fault being lousy and not covering Jones asap. But the thing here is, Lebedev must be DQ'd because of that punch, its just that the ref is so slow and so lousy.

@martykd you are wrong. Roy Jones was clearly concious as he held his hands over his face. Clearly the ref believes roy jones isn't a quitter, track record to even prove it. He just felt like he would takle the opitunity away from roy if he stopped it any earlier. Roy jones has been known for his unsportsmanlike behaviour anyways so the ref had to see if Roy still had some left. he could have easily dropped

What you guys don't understand is that, when you are a natural born phenome like Roy Jones was, it is very hard to let go. He should have retired long ago, but he can't because he loves boxing and has been doing it for so long. All this is doing, is ruining his legacy. I love roy Roy, but please dude, stop for your own safety!

He had to deliver that last punch, if he didn't give that last blow Roy might've recovered, if Roy didn't want to be hit again he should've grabbed the ropes or gone down, he asked for it.

the ref was clearly stepping in to stop it, he just hesitated for a second but why throw the punch when Jones is totally defenseless bent over and obviously done. That was so f'ckd up. I don't want to see any fighter get hit like that when he's out on his feet.

I don't believe this is Karma because Jones was so cocky back in the day, he just got old, we are all human, we can't function at a high pace like we could when we were younger, I love Roy! I hate to see a great man and fighter be defeated by nobodies, the people that people Roy probably feel they beat him but in my heart he's still one of the best to do it, just retire man, mission complete.

@mambocowboy Wait, are you telling Lebedev that karma's a bitch? Every fighter knows you stay on your opponent until the referee jumps in. This ref was obviously stupid enough to let the fight go on after Jones was clearly out of it, but don't blame Levedev for throwing that last punch though. The ref had not stopped it so he continued to do his job.
