Roy is genius. He is on another level. Extremely high level boxing. In this sparring he feels everything. Good balanced and moving. Extremely high speed and physical conditions. In every moment he could finish this guy, but didn't do that. Look at that strait right hand 4:01 and the jab after.

Jones was fighting at 154 lbs at the time. Lindell Holmes was the IBF supermidleweight champ at 168. Holmes was bigger, but Jones was much younger and faster.

Notice Holmes hooking off the jab, leading with the hook & using the lead uppercut ? No ? Thats coz he telling Roy what he sees, not trying to KO him. Wiley old pro schooling a (wildly) talented amateur or very young pro Roy.

Sam no shut up Roy’s fights are way better to watch and fun and there’s action throughout, all Mayweather really did in my opinion is introduce to boxing what the WWF was doing make yourself fucking hated so much that everyone tones in and pays money to see you lose although he never lost he’s also a great defensive fighter no taking that away from him but in my honest opinion never fought a real tough fight against any guys IMHO and only reason he is in my top 10 is cause of the crazy money making he brought to combat sports. Because it was rare a fighter made 100 million plus in a fighter even till this day I mean Tyson fury vs Deontay Wilder purse combine was less then 40 million after PPV and guarantee purse still a lot of money but may weather last fight vs Conor was a guarantee 275 million not counting PPV so that goes you show you also may is 50-0 and Tyson fury is currently 29-0 and wilder 41-0 so it not cause of of how many times someone has won on the sport you have to be the bad guy or fight the bad guy in order to make crazy cash

Even the Olympic amateur version of Roy Jones beats every version of Floyd Mayweather you can imagine.
@KingvKing
@KingvKing Жыл бұрын
Excellent footage. Jones was exceptional don’t get me wrong. This is a small ring and advantages Holmes considerably. If you come out of your Jones ether, one can never underestimate fundamentals. Jones has a common pattern herein of relying on speed and reflexes, while Boxing Science principles are nonexistent. Once the speed and reflexes diminished Jones began getting stopped inside the competition duration versus lower caliber adversaries. Ask yourself, would you rather go with longevity and get to the finish line safely - or appear distinguished and dominant for a short period ? Jones went with the latter. Many do not accept the reality that Jones opted for opponents of lower risk for high reward from 1995-2003 on his HBO contract. Wherein provided Jones a false image of dominance. This set the manipulative match-making scheme that Floyd Mayweather doubled predominantly on HBO. Researched not repeat. ©️Coach Hilario 2023

I don't. Roy was a good fighter that's all. He never fought anybody. His career was a fraud. He lost twice to Calzaghe and I'm not sure he beat James Toney. I remember that fight. Boxing is not a real sport meaning there are no real points like there are in basketball, baseball and football. It's mostly a matter of opinion.

Jones was a 4 weight champion and dominated 3 of those divisions middleweight super middleweight and light heavyweight..and he fought joe calspappy at 41 years old...Roy jnes voted best boxer of the 1990's one of the great eras by boxing writers...was pound for pound king for over a decade...joe calslappy never made the p4p list once in his career and he was unbeaten which shows he fought bums and old men who were past it...the only reason you get on the p4p list is fighting top boxers and champions and roy jones fought them all and took their belts in his prime...And he fought shitty joe caslappy ONCE...joe calslappy who held the shitty wbo belt for over 10 years refused to move up or fight jermaine taylor or the other belt holders in his division..he just fought fucking bums and had rematches with them...then waited for the greats like eubank jones and hopkins to get old then fight them....one of the worst unbeaten records in boxing history where he never fought one great boxer in their PRIME.

you are definitely 100 percent a white guy......jones is the best boxer to ever grace this plaent...calzaghe could only deal with jones when his career was finished....calzaghe would not have beaten nigel benn ..chris eubank or michael watson in their primes...simple as.you are just a racist...also know nothing about boxing
