Yet another Mr Clough master stroke .... Roy Keane... Absolutely brilliant player... I think when he went to Manchester United he seemed never to really get into the box like he did at Nottingham Forest.... He will forever be a true red.... Totally worldclass..

Good old days when you could tackle a player and not be booked. He’s always welcome in Nottingham. COYR

Personally, I think he was Ireland's second best player ever after Paul McGrath. But I'm too young to remember Liam Brady and Johnny Giles...
@samcrofts78910 жыл бұрын
no chance. Ireland's best and most successful player by a mile. Will never be another Keano
@andreacummins127110 жыл бұрын
I did state that it just was my opinion. . . McGrath played very well for Ireland every time he pulled on the jersey. Keano was the most succesful (club level) and talented (probably) Irish player ever but he ruled himself out for Ireland plenty of times. The Black Pearl was always fantastic for Ireland. PS. I'm not from Dublin if ya think I've got an anti-Cork bias.

Got to agree with you Andrea. Paul McGrath had skills, composure, vision and and footballing class that Roy never had. All round better footballer.

Did I read somewhere that Brian Clough stood Keane up on a box to roast him because he didn't like 'shouting down' at people? If so... Class.

@Andrea Cummins - If so...then he (BRIAN CLOUGH) was a soulless piece of sh*t, he was a bully who enjoyed being cruel to people. May his soul be judged accordingly, his legacy lives on through the many people he permanently damaged with his abuse. There's no wonder Roy Keane is such a bully in the Irish camp today, he's doing to the young Irish players what 'CLOUGH' did to him.

Clough and Fergie not too shabby managers who BOTH knew in Roy he was a winner Keep him aggressive ,intimidating ,arrogant that was how for best out of Roy For sure as hear modern interviews he respected Brian Clough not just as manager but as the man.Brian Clough feared nobody like proper Old School Managers style Step out line regarding his world & receive whack round the head & referees were off limit that part of Roy came under Fergie.

What we need in football today is more female commentators who havnt a clue about the man’s game. Who is interested in the opinions of footballers like Roy Keane ?

2:45 Rubbish ! Keane was not distracted by lads from Cork not getting tickets. He was got at by Edinburgh and Howells through the game. It was enough to cramp his game and he wasn't mature enough to handle it at 18, plain and simple.

Forest were making records in the '90s... by finishing bottom of the Premiership 3 times. That's a record matched only by Sunderland. A few years later they then became the only former European Cup winner to fall to tier 3 of their own domestic league.
