It’s funny isn’t it. There’s no player in history that I coveted more than Roy Keane. I’m a Tottenham season ticket holder and I spent the 90s to early 00s seeing people walk through our piss weak midfield. Keane was everything we never had. Still haven’t had, to an extent … But maybe that’s why the best players don’t necessarily make great managers. You have to have a nerd like attention to detail, these days. You can’t simply turn up every day and work hard. It’s a different kind of application. Much as it’s a funny anecdote, that’s a pretty unforgivable mistake to make as a top level manager

Managers can't just turn up and talk about pashun and desiyuh these days, there are a lot of technical details to consider. Men like Fergie will not win anything these days. Only pundits paddle this pashun crap because it riles up the audiences. The second season in the Prem he left in November just 3 months into the season when they were 18th in the table so he basically jumped when he knew the ship was sinking. Sunderland is a big club, getting them promoted is not as impressive as the other managers that get smaller clubs promoted into the Prem nearly every year.
