Shame these along with the TX-2S were discontinued, especially since people like rock/metal drummers would like longer sticks with extra thickness (usually 2B). But tbf I asked D’Addario why these models were discontinued, and one of the representatives told me that low demand and the supply issues stemming from the pandemic were the reasons why :/ gonna try out the Rebound 2Bs soon though and I’m sure they’ll suit my needs

does his kit sound that way or is it the EQ from being mic'd. Obviously it sounds great because he is good but its like the drums thump hard with no ringing but i dont see anything dampening the heads? Is it him not sucking at tuning the heads or eq work?

A combination of various factors- A) He's got , I believe a DW Collectors; a great sound starts with great drums B) Good, fresh heads, precisely tuned to produce the best sound C) top that off with some eq work, a bit of mixing and you get very punchy, quick-decaying drums- the sound that you want in heavy music.
