I’m here for the nostalgia, this show was my life and I really miss it. Growing up Irish in Britain this show was the absolute best thing ever and I would always look forward to coming home and watching Roy. Roy made my childhood. I miss the 2010’s, watching Roy whilst drinking milk with those weird straws that make it a different flavour and playing games like cut the rope, subway surf and lava boy and water girl. I definitely know how I am going to raise my kids when I’m older, thanks for making my childhood such a special one. 🤞💞💖✨

dude i had those same straws chocolate strawberry and banana they would run out of flavour so you had to blow down and suck it back up to make it taste again. this was one of my favourite shows when i was a kid

I don't know why Irish homes are depicted as having 1970's kitchens and 70's furnishings generally. Irish homes in my experience look the same as British ones. And why pick a North Dublin slum, complete with slum accent? It's like representing English people abroad with a kids show set in Handsworth or the worst part of Liverpool.

The show isn't even saying this is how Ireland is. It's just a certain area of a city where a certain family lives. Dublin has many different districts with many different characteristics, this is just one of them.

I LOVE Roy! One of the all-time best kids shows on British TV. A rare chance to see an Irish family on TV - shame we didn't get more Irish content. Roy hooked me in with its unique concept and superb graphics, but it was a great production all-round. I especially loved the headmaster guy. I'm glad Roy got 4 seasons though it felt like it had the potential to go on much longer and be seen by more generations (Chucklevision had 21 series!). Not sure it was a good idea to abandon the fans and turn it into a baby show - if anything they should have gone the opposite direction and done a teenage series (Roy starts dating, Roy goes to college etc.) I hope Roy is still shown on CBBC today. Or reboot it with a new cartoon character?
