Hey all, I was a young teen when I made this and I did not expect 5 million views on this lyric video. Nor did I know it was a rangers song but everyone has their own reasons for liking a song. I just read that lots of you have heard this play at a loved ones funeral and I'm glad this little video has hopefully bought back a little memory of them (which is hopefully good and not of the funeral) and this means a lot to me. I heard this song from parties when my aunts would drag my nanna up on stage and they all sang this song and the tradition still runs to this day. Thank you.

@Laura Rangers FC quite a few years back now with the rights from Roy went and released this song again into the download charts with the majority of the proceeds being given to British armed forces veterans due to celtic refusing to wear the poppy and support our troops so rangers made an extra effort and brought the song out and paraded our armed forces veterans at Ibrox around our fans and gave them free match tickets and so on and since then the song has just stuck with the fans. Nothing at all to do with religion but just respect for the armed forces of the UK. KZbin search rangers penny arcade 🇬🇧

Hadn't listened to this track in years, years and years, but as soon as that oompah kicked in I immediately knew the lyrics. What a great song, Orbison's voice makes you think the song is going one way, then it goes another, fantastic.

A light shone in the night some way ahead Blue turned into green, then it was red And stirring the night, love music played The light I saw in the night was a Penny Arcade "Step up and play", each machine seemed to say As I walked round and round the Penny Arcade Just ring the bell on the big Bagatelle And you'll make all the coloured lights cascade And music played In the Penny Arcade Yes, it played and it played Played all the time Roll up and spend your last dime At first I thought it a dream that I was in Lost, lost in a sea of glass and tin But no, so dipping my hand in the back of my jeans I grabbed a handful of coins to feed the machine "Step up and play", each machine seemed to say As I walked round and round the Penny Arcade Just ring the bell on the big Bagatelle And you'll make all the coloured lights cascade And music played In the Penny Arcade Yes, it played and it played Played all the time Roll up and spend your last dime "Oh, step up and play", each machine seemed to say As I walked round and round the Penny Arcade Just ring the bell on the big Bagatelle And you'll make all the coloured lights cascade And music played In the Penny Arcade Yes, it played and it played Played all the time Roll up and spend your last Roll up and spend your last Roll up and spend your last dime ❤️🤍💙❤️🔥💔 #Chic

I'm glad you uploaded this Laura. No, it's not all about Rangers. For many though, it's all about Rangers. It's a fantastic song to sing supporting the team we love. It isn't a bad thing. We had this as our second song at our wedding, for three reasons - it's my wife's grandad's song, which later was later adopted as a Rangers anthem, and thirdly no-one cares what it is besides a great song when it comes on. I didn't see one Celtic fan or otherwise not up on that floor that night. Step up and play!
