Not only did Roy perform at the highest levels he did it while suffering such heartache. His wife was killed in a motorcycle crash and 2 years later 2 of his 3 children died in a house fire while he was on the road. It take an inner strength to go on after that and he more than went on. Thank you Roy!

A performer of this caliber doesn't have to twerk, rub his rear end on people, grab their crotch or jump around acting like a fool. They stand and sing with such talent and heartfelt emotion that they bring up memories from your past, the good memories along with the bad. No everyone has the ability to appreciate their talent. I agree 100% with what you said about Roy, but you clearly don‘t understand where hip hop came from and how it is deeply relatable to a considerable amount of people. I also agree that it‘s not necessary for a good artist to make a big show out of themselves when they‘re actually musically talented, but that doesn‘t mean that all those who do are talentless fools. You‘d have to agree that Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus are some of the best singers around. They don‘t have to dress or dance like they do to get attention, they just do it anyway. And no matter whether I‘m supportive of that part of the performance, I highly appreciate their singing abilities.

One thing I notice about Orbison's later videos of his early songs. He sings them in the original keys. Many singers lower the keys as their voices age and they are no longer able to make the high notes. Orbison does them all as he originally recorded them....and can still kill it!!

In my experience singing Roy Orbison on KZbin it has to do with breathing technique: try it yourself! Sinatra quoted in Nancy Sinatra bio "Daddy and Me" described learning his breathing technique from the brass players in Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra: "sneak quick inhale breaths" at EVERY opportunity to maintain bursting full lungs of air whenever not exhaling to play - or in a vocalists case, to sing - the notes. You may check out my Orbison covers on KZbin channel, Mark Redman. Thank you. God bless you. Wished for a Safe and Happy 2021.

@fanfam7 жыл бұрын
Axl Rose (William Bruce Bailey Rose Jr.) has a vocal range of 6 octaves. People do not misunderstand the term ''vocal range''. Its not about screaming the ''hardest'' and having the most breath in your longs. While the broadest definition of "vocal range" is simply the span from the lowest to the highest note a particular voice can produce, this broad definition is often not what is meant when "vocal range" is discussed in the context of singing. Vocal pedagogists tend to define the vocal range as the total span of "musically useful" pitches that a singer can produce.
