Correction: You made an error on Roy Orbison's first wife, Claudette Frady Orbison. She did not die in a car accident, she died in a motorcycle accident. The information below is quoted from the article. On "JUNE 6, 1966 - Roy Orbison's first wife, Claudette Frady Orbison (b. Sep. 5, 1941) was killed when a truck pulled out of a side road and collided with the motorbikes that she and Roy were riding on in Gallatin, Tennessee. She died in his arms an hour later, at just 24 years old." She was a mother of two boys. Roy Orbison was a tremendous singer, songwriter, and musician. He had a unique sound that basically transcended decades And resonated with millions. RIP Roy Kelton Orbison, April 23, 1936 - December 6, 1988, age 52.

He left his glasses on the plane when he arrived in Dothan, Alabama and played that night for the first time in his sunglasses out of necessity. That night he met Bobby Goldsboro and John Rainey Atkins who were in his hired backup band and they went on to tour with Roy. I have an original promo poster from that concert hanging in our guitar shop in Dothan. A young Buddy Buie was also there that night.

Obscure songs that I like which almost no one has heard was his cover of " Trying to Get to You " where the 2nd voice was done by a Clarinet instead of a singer. !! Saw Roy on his last tour in March 1988, at the Denver Paramount Theatre...❤❤❤.. What a concert. !!! Best concert I ever went to :: including Led Zepplin, Stones or even Bruce at Red 🎸 Rocks. ( Audience applauded right in the middle of a song. ! Never saw that before or since. ) Remember well the article in the Boulder Daily Camera when Roy died on December 6, 1988 . Very ssd for me.
