Not only an immense talent as a songwriter and singer, but also a very humble and gracious man. I remember I cried the day he died. I'm no so sentimental, and it hasn't happened since. I think next time I'll cry for the death of a celebrity will be when Brian Wilson leaves us. I still love Roy Orbison, I'll always love him and Brian Wilson. I will certainly piss off many people by what I shall write hence. Roy deserves the title of King of Rock and Roll more than Elvis ever will. I love Elvis for what he had and did. Roy wrote everything he sang and his lyrics were so damn real to so many of us. Elvis entertained. Roy related. Elvis was royalty. Roy was one of us. Elvis became the showman. Roy was the journeyman. I will always love Elvis and I will always love Roy. Perhaps Elvis is the King......and Roy is our hero and comfort. Roy is there when we need him most. See you someday Roy and thank you. I first heard Roy in about 1960 and became an instant fan. I was a very young man and throughout the years I bought just about every record and album that was produced by him. I listened to him constantly and to this day claim there has never been a greater singer than this man who died just too young. I still play his records on my old player but have now given many of my albums to my sons who also fell in love with his voice and songs.
