Roy Wulf Commemorates the 105th Anniversary of the Battle of the Somme

The Battle of the Somme began at 7:30 AM on July 1, 1916. It was one of the deadliest battles in all of human history. The bagpipe tune is “The Battle of the Somme” composed by William Laurie, he participated in this terrible battle as pipe master of the 8th Argylls. He died shortly afterward from illness and injuries sustained in the trenches, but lived just long enough to see his tune meet immediate success.
