Must say your view was excellent as u saw the Maestro at an angle that shows his effortless control of the orchestra. Great selection in Part1. Even included my favourite piece, "The Legend of 1900"

Cheers John. Sorry I didn't post your appreciative comment earlier, but I couldn't get access to my KZbin accounts for quite a while. "The Legend of 1900" (not to be confused with "1900") is indeed a wonderful piece. Can I say, though ~ although not so many view Part 2, I did use the fact that the videographer, my brother Gordon, wasn't allowed to video any more of the concert ~ I used that to put captions over it, about the films. Took a bit of work. So, it MIGHT be worth viewing Part 2 ...too. Cheers again.

What a pity you were not seated on a front seat as to have a better balance of the orchestra. But you took enormous risks ; thx for uploading
@HughHueCarroll6 жыл бұрын
Hello there. Well, if you frieze the video at 2:15 you'll see that you'd be looking up at the stage. You wouldn't really see that much of the orchestra from that angle. And I didn't want to be looking at the composer's back all evening. Where Gordon and I were, at least you could see something of Ennio's face ...and, of course, we were on the right side to get a good shot of the soloist. Thanks though for appreciating our efforts.

@@HughHueCarroll Mind you it's not a critic; personally i prefer to not to look at the conductor which prevents me from concentrating on the performance; as for the soloist if I can I take front seats slightly on the left as to be more or less able to watch his hands as I play the piano as an amateur and you can learn from the positions of his hands he takes.

jv ~ I understand better. This time, the pianist was a Woman ~ the superb Gilda Buttà. :::MIND YOU, you are not seeing an ordinary Conductor. ENNIO is not merely the Conductor... HE is also the Orchestrator ~ and, deeper than these... the COMPOSER! Morricone has ABOMINATED the use {perhaps the OVERUSE} of professional orchestrators, so prevalent in Hollywood and elswhere. MORRICONE SAID "a composer should finish his own music" /// Long since This historic Twenty-o-Three 'Concerto' ...Ennio had conducted a similar concert of his music in them, thar United States of America. A music critic reviewing the performance was WITHERING about Ennio Morricone's 'stick' technique. But EM withered right back ~~> "People who come for my 'gestures' ...should Stay-At-Home!" ~OR~ possibly "People who come for my 'gestures' ...should Stay Outside!"

Mozart still exists ...

Sorry MVE ~ I removed your comment by mistake. It came consecutively and independently after federico’s and said: “Mozart lives”. Interesting we all three think the same. But, strangely, I apparently accidentally typed ‘No’, meaning I was wrong. But I do speculate: Was it the dharma of ‘Mozart’ to return ...and have another highly creative musical life, but this time a LONG one? We all mourn the passing of certainly a Great Master, who died on 6th July 2020, aged 91. \\What an enhancement ‘Morricone’ has been (and still is) to My obscure life. Mille grazie maestro.

Can someone tell me the name of the song?? 40:33 I'm so inlove with it please please please.
@HughHueCarroll7 жыл бұрын
Hello Nqobile. :::There is no actual song that I am aware of, but this instrumental piece by The Maestro is actually MY favourite ~ which, given the vast output by this great master, is no easy pick! :::It's called in English "Love Theme" from 'The Red Tent'::: However... You do need to acquaint yourself with the ORIGINAL Soundtrack Recording. Morricone regards the human voice as the greatest of the musical instruments ~ so hear it featuring (seemingly) His favourite vocalist ~ the soprano Edda Dell'Orso. (The lovely coda on viola is played by Dino Asciolla.) The Love Theme from The Red Tent is one of Ennio's most beautiful pieces. On the old defunct Ennio Morricone Discussion Board, Addie Smith [I dedicate this iMovie to Her] ~ she had asked, Which was Our favourite piece by Ennio Morricone... I conceded it was very, very hard to make such a single choice ~ but ~ I opted for Love Theme from 'The Red Tent'. Not at all surprised You are so taken with it! kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6vJmX2Eiaxgbs0
