I found that Vaganova style will whoop you into shape fast! I grew up learning Balanchine but switched to Vaganova when I started going to a Russian ballet school. Within a month my entire body had changed shape! My muscles were toned, flexibility improved and technique improved. It’s harder yes but boy is it beautiful!

In my personal taste, aesthetically i prefer so much Vaganova style, but it seems much more demanding for the body too. Not everyone can have such en dehors without harming their body.

My teacher is very vaganova exept for the turnout actually, which I'm very grateful for ahah

But not everyone is accepted there as well and your physique plays a huge role in that. If you don't have natural turn out, you're most likely not going to get in
@yin4296Ай бұрын
@@lizazakharova2257they’ll also reject you for being too flexible or too toned which is crazy. I definitely understand that physique plays a part in the safety of pointe and their rigorous training but not allowing someone for being too flexible or too toned makes very little sense to me😭

I head once that for Vaganova the back leg for turns is straight because in Russia they dance on raked stages so the weight is already on the front leg.

The styles of individual schools have become diluted over the years, although Russian schools have obviously retained their individual style more than most. The Vaganova style is flashier (more exciting ?) than the stereotypical RBS "pure/less mannered" style. Russian ballet students tend not to be selected for training unless they have natural flexibility/turnout etc. As with many other schools across the globe, foreign students are allowed in for the financial gains and they struggle with the aesthetic requirements. Forcing feet out to 180+degrees, with ankles rolling in and knees not able to follow even the big toe in plié, is asking for injuries and a short lived career. This dancer has little turnout and the skirt hides the 'cheat' on the extension. The pirouette prep shows the apparent lordosis, lack of core engagement with upper body, head poking forward and the supporting knee falling in etc. Misalignment like this greatly affects the body over years of repetitive movement, resulting in multiple injuries and a shortened dancing life. Paris Opera used to scout from playgrounds across France, only taking kids that had natural facility - saves a lot of heartache in the long run.

I have a question Isabella How can dancer got that’s tornout? And can improve his legs? Vaganova use exercises practices or is for Russia natural body?
@sfrancies875 ай бұрын
Sounds like Vaganova is a hotbed for injuries. Not everyone will have flat turnout, why force it? Sure it can be improved but that takes time. Sounds toxic.
@primalcritters5 ай бұрын
It sounds to me that you've missed the whole point of Isabella's videos. She goes into Great lengths about how in Russia they will not advance you unless you are strong enough and they will hold you back a year to strengthen you so that you can perform these movements. To be frank, it sounds like you just want the easy way to do ballet. Such beauty and perfection in lines are only accomplished with rigorous strength training. In the pursuit of such beauty are their injuries? Sure, if you're not training correctly. That's why you have to follow the vaganova method and their teachers because they help ensure that you are prepared. Please don't call everything toxic when Russia upholds beautiful artistic standards, and clearly Isabella agrees
